    Friday 6th October - 10 Stone 5lb (BMI = 26.61)

OK so I put 2lb on in 6 weeks. I am trying not to be too disheartened. I haven't ate particularly well and it's only been over the last couple of weeks that I've actually been putting the effort in exercise wise. 2lb over the space of 6 weeks really isn't that bad.

I'm not getting down about the increase because I actually feel better. I've got more energy and I think I'm toning up.... Well I hope I am.

This week I have been doing at least 2 miles a day of the Leslie Sansone walking videos on YouTube. If I have time i do 3. I do have her DVD but I find these more fun. She's very motivating and she just comes over as a really happy person.

So going forward I am going to keep doing that daily. Eat NO chocolate for the next 6 weeks. (NOTE I will find this very difficult.) and eat not food after half 7.

    Onwards & Upwards

Not doing very well at this at all. I intermittently get up in the week to exercise (3 days last week) but any exercise I do, do I ruin by the fact I then pick at food I don't need. Chocolates & Marshmallows being my down fall.

I suppose what it should boil down to is why I want to lose weight. Maybe my reluctance to want to do thinks that would help me lose weight is all down to the fact that I'm actually happy how I am.

11 days till weigh in. Need to make my choice.

@tracydawn17 proud of you for getting out there! Before making the other choice, maybe try these!:
--A mount of advice given to me once, was to not eat as an activity. I get breathing. Meaning, stand, lay-down (no-pillow) and deep breathe.

--And if feeling indifferent (meaning anything but absolutely delighted about the potential meal) push the meal away. Doesn't have to be far, casually away from yourself. This is for clarity, to solidly deal with what else is at hand. It might take some getting used to, I practiced outside of socialities. Or, honestly, I fidgeted in my chair. Which is fine, because fidgeting turned into texting my friends, calling my family.

--My favorite habit, here to stay, is to consume liquids of all sorts midmorning.

@christinibeenie Thanks for your advice. A lot of the eating I do is through boredom so that idea of deep breathing i think could really help me.

I try to drink a lot of water during weekdays when I'm at work but this falls off at the weekend. Need to make it more of a habit, all of the time.

    Friday 25th August 2017 - 10 Stone 3lb (BMI= 26.25)

OK.... Check point day one and I weigh exactly the same!!!

Not surprised. I am actually glad I stayed the same and didn't have any dramatic weigh increase. Over the last 6 weeks I have rarely put any proper exercise in and have been for fewer walks then normal.
The first week I was pretty good and this week I've been pretty good but from day to day I lose focus. Last week I was on holiday and although I was busy going places and doing lots of walking that way I wasn't really sticking to three meals.

As I say I know what I need to do its just finding the motivation and the focus to keep at it.

My brother has been in a fitness regime for a year now. He eats healthy foods and exercises regularly and he has seen the weigh drop off. Although to me he looks thin he is not at the weight he wants yet so will keep going until he is. He has treat days and if he does have a particularly bad day he dusts himself off and gets back on track the next day. He has the focus and the want to do it. Not sure I do.

This week I have stuck to three main meals. I have an afternoon snack that is some kind of fruit or veg like chopped peppers and I haven't ate anything after half 7. I have also walked 3 miles 3 nights.
Sometimes I think I set unrealistic targets and get disappointed if I don't meet them. I used to want to walk 3 miles every day of the week. If I missed a night or two I got down hearted and sometimes wrote the whole week off.

I find getting up in the morning to exercise hard. (I never used to, Think I've just got lazy.) and I have no idea why I thought I could get up 5 days a week at 5:30am just to get an hour in. I can't. I just cant.
I am going to set my alarm next week for 6:15am and plan to be up by 6:30. I then can do between 30 - 45 minutes workout before I have to get ready for work. This should give me time to sit down, have a bit of breakfast and be out the house for 8AM.

Plan B for the next 6 weeks - target day Friday 6th October.

    1. To stick to 3 main meals and snacking on fruit. But don't be discouraged if I have a bad day, allow yourself a treat day. I'm thinking either Friday or Sunday.

    2. To aim walk 3 miles on at least 3 nights.

    3. To exercise daily in the morning Monday to Friday for at least 30 minutes.
All that is doable. Anything extra is a bonus.

I am having a fresh start tomorrow. For some reason over the last month or so I haven't really had the motivation to want to try to lose weight.

I weighed myself on Friday and I was 10 Stone 3lb. (BMI = 26.25) For my height and according to my Nintendo Wii Character I am overweight. I do just want to be Ideal.

Starting last weekend it was 24 weeks until the end of the year. I have split those into 4 sets of 6 weeks ending on

    1. Friday 25th August

    2. Friday 6th October

    3. Friday 17th November

    4. Friday 29th December.

I am going to use each of these days as mini progress points to see how I am going long term.

This week hasn't particularly gone very well. I have ate a lot of chocolate whilst watching films but also just to get rid of it. I have done no exercise as such.

If I can try and go to bed earlier by an hour I can get up earlier. I am aiming to get up at 5:30am. Workout in front of the TV for at least an hour before work. (DVD workout / YouTube / Nintendo Wii Fit). Then at night, an hour after tea go for a 2-3 mile walk. I want to set a target to do at least 15,000 steps a day.

I'm also off chocolate. It is my major weekness but I know I don't really need it. I don't. We have lots of fruit & veg here. I need to condition my head to head to those when I am in a picking mood. My brother swears by carrots for his go to snack.

I have had alot of "In The Zone" moments this year and false starts when it comes to exercising and losing weight. I do things for so long then I get out the habit. I do want it this time. I really do. I can do it!!! Just need to keep myself motivated. Keep in my head what I want to achieve and aim for it.

I had a pretty bad day food wise today. Buying Milka chocolate when in Birmingham was not the best idea neither was the millionaire shortbread I finished off this afternoon.

I think I always need one bad day a week when I just blow out. I'll do better tomorrow.

I'm on holiday this week and often when I day trip to places I'm too busy to actually stop and eat. If I have a big breakfast I often don't want much then until tea time. So fingers crossed I'll have a good week with lots of walking.

I've been spending the last few days compiling a photobook of all different shows I see and places I go. I find that I take loads of photos but now were all digital I never print them off and very rarely look at them again. It's taking time but its looking good so far.

    My Weekend
I spent yesterday morning with my Nan. She is such a wonderful person and she makes me smile so much. I don't think she realises how funny she is. Everytime I go I get a selfie with her and I think this is something she enjoys. I'm planning on putting them all in a collage. Framing it and giving it to her as a gift.

In the afternoon I sorted through some old recorded VHS tapes. I have a massive pile of about 30 that I plan to throw out. I have only done 7 and from those 7 i am keeping 4. (Don't ask!! I went through a period in the 90's taping everything that Boyzone were on.) & Yes.... I do still have a video player. 😀

I walk for about 3 miles with my friend every other Sunday and today was a walking Sunday. We weren't out for very long but I'm glad that we do still keep to this habit. She has a lovely Brown Labrador. He is only 18 months old and he is so excitable. But he just wants to play. I love that.

This afternoon I caught up on two episodes of Neighbours (I'm still a week behind) and after that I watched the film The Wedding Singer and had a lovely relaxing bubblebath.

I'm currently updating this while I watch the England national football team play Lithuania in a World Cup Qualifier. Were winning but only just... We should be better.

    My Weekend
Yesterday I wrote two letters to relatives I have in America. I am going to print off some photos tomorrow to put in with them and then post them off. I think there is still something lovely about writing and receiving letters though the post.

I also watched the film Whiplash on the recomendation of my Brother. Although I enjoyed it. I did find it uncomfortable to watch at times. I can understand why J.K Simmons won so many awards for his portrayal of Terence Fletcher in this movie. I mean there is pushing students to release their potential and there is pushing students!!!!

Today I have already watched 2 films. The Back Up Plan & Sleepless In Seattle. I may watch another later. Escapism at its best.

Had a pretty positive day today. Manage to book tickets this morning to see Shania Twain Live in Concert next year when she tours the UK and I also booked tickets to see the new Fast And Furious Live Arena tour next year. Bit of forward planning. (Need to for the best seats) and more chances to build some memories.

Currently trying to work out how they are going to get cars going really, really fast in an arena environment let alone do stunts. Should be pretty interesting and if not at least it should be very cool.

I spend a lot of time on twitter. It's one of the things I've grown to love over the last few years but it can be terribly distracting. I don't even post that much but I do read lots of others and if Tottenham Hotspur game on the horizon or indeed going on my time line is full of people tweeting their support. I do enjoy what twitter is but I also know that my time would be better spent else where.... Sometimes.😀

So from trying to avoid going on twitter I've been doing other things.

Last weekend my Mum and I went to the cinema to see Victoria & Abdul. What a beautiful film. I have always been fascinated by the royal family and I found this story completely fascinating. Judi Dench was brilliant again as Queen Victoria.

Today I completed reading David Jason's Autobiography. A great read. He's a national treasure in the UK and someone I have grown up watching on TV. Only Fools & Horses and Open All Hours were always on in our house and him and the shows he was in reminds me so much of my Dad. He passed away in 2004 but would always laugh at these shows.

David Jason worked so hard to become the star that he is. He gives me hope. He was 40 when he go the role of Del Boy. The character that most know him for and I aspire to be more like him. Dedicated. Someone who knows what they want and works so hard for it.

So over the next few months I am going to write more. Something I always thought I could do. Read another book and finish knitting my reindeer. Also I'm re-watching Only Fools & Horses from the beginning. It's my reward if I spend an hour exercising a day. I've got to earn it.

I've actually got Del Boys' Autobiography. Think I'm going to give that a read next.

In 2013 I had treatment for breast cancer. I went through a Lumpectomy, Chemotherapy & Radiotherapy and am currently taking tamoxifen everyday. But thankfully due to all the above I've been NED (No Evidence of disease) for 4 years now. (Touching wood everyday that this continues.)

I did have a wobble a month back when the negative thoughts returned and anxieties got the better of me though. It made me think about how far I've come and how I should be treasuring every moment.

I get a routine appointment twice a year. February / March to the breast clinic and August/ September to see my oncologist. Between these times I'm left on my own to trust my body. Have faith in myself. This is hard. From the top to the bottom I need to look after myself better. In what I eat, to how I hold myself, to the exercise I do. Everything about what I do and how I spend my time. Negative thoughts have never helped me. I need to be around positive people doing things that I love. Need to find some me time. Relax, Have Fun and Look After ME!!!!

@tracydawn17 As long as you recognize you're doing it, that's not a problem, especially if you're doing it as a exercise. Sometimes learning to create art in the style of a master is a good way to hone your own skills and find your own voice.
I have a writing book at home -- can't remember the name at the moment -- that has the same snippet of a story written in dozens of different styles and voices.

    1. I see lots of live shows and enjoy going to the theatre especially to see musicals.

    2. I love baking and trying new recipes.

    3. I went through treatment for breast cancer in 2013 which I am still dealing with the effects of now. I would love to think of a way of sharing my experiences in a way that could help others.

I'm keeping up with the monthly to do lists which I also split into weeks and I have found that it helps me get stuff done. I like the idea of doing "first things first" as I often put off the niggley little jobs that take the shortest amount of time. Don't know why. Laziness probably. So I do find that having them down to tick off helps.

Daily Exercise / Steps - Not so good. I often forget to fill this in last thing at night.

Slowly ticking off the movies I want to watch too and I try to watch 3 new films a week. Last week I watched Dream a Little Dream, Cry Baby & The Lone Ranger. I enjoyed them all.

    Another Fresh Start.
I've set this up again using a book I created using Photobox.

    Pages I currently have

    1. My To Do List for the Month

    2. My Daily Exercise / Total Steps

    3. Weekly to do lists with 5 - 10 things on it. At the end of each week I'm going to do a paragraph on how well I did and what I could improve on.

    4. Movies I need to watch

    5. Films I have watched.

    6. A list of the amendments I want to make in an old book I wrote. This is for a bit of fun really but I thought it would be good for practice.

I don't want to over complicate it with too much as I often forget to fill it in. This way it concentrates on the stuff I want / need to do.

    1. Getting stuff done.

    2. Exercising / Losing Weight

    3. Writing

    4. And Watching More Movies.

    Day one.
I spend alot of time on Pinterest and this was one of the ideas I really want to try. I love making lists and ticking things off anyway but I also have a love of stationary, writing and in particularly journaling so this sounded absolutely perfect for me.
Having done quite well for about 2 months I kept forgetting to update it and eventually I lost interest. I've unsuccessfully attempted restarts this year but haven't managed to stick to it. So like with my lose weight goal I thought the 1st of June would be a good place to start.
Having this site will (fingers crossed) help me stay on track so hopefully this time I won't give up.

You can type any date in plain English like in 3 weeks or next month.
You can also type in recurring due date like every day, every week and every month.
