Why do we have so many unanswered questions? This is for fun...Seen this one on face book:

    1. Still haven't found out who let the dogs out?

    2. How do I get to Sesame Street?

    3. Why didn't Dora the Explorer use Google Maps?
      but then I thought

    4. Why did Willie I. Coyote who bought all that ACME stuff, didn't order a meal instead of trying to catch the roadrunner?

    5. Why are builders afraid to have a "13th floor" but book publishers aren't afraid of having a "chapter 11?"
      and finally

    6. Why is Mickey Mouse bigger than his dog Pluto? and Goofy stands upright and Pluto stands on all fours and doesn't talk. There both dogs? Why is this?
You don't have to answer these questions, just ponder them as I have. Have a great night.

Do you like to participate in on-line surveys? Which surveys do you like most? Clothing? Shoes? Beauty products? Relationship surveys? Company surveys? or other type? Just wondering,
I usually do the face book type surveys until I realized they might be selling my information to the highest bidder. Donald Trump is supposed to sign a bill that would allow your internet provider ISP's (like AT&T or Verizon) to sell your information to the highest bidder. How do you feel about that? Oh well, I think they already have that information on everyone. Your purchases, web sites you visit, nothing is off limits.

@mchuggs If you fill out on-line surveys you will get spammed. I avoid them. One reporter once spent 40 hours filling in surveys to see how much money he would get - he won between $2 and $3 for a week's worth of work.

@spyrunner I don't do FB surveys very often. They do sell your stuff to others. I do some other surveys that I get paid to and get gift certificates from Best Buy or other places. I haven't done any in awhile and only do them when I feel like it.

Does anyone want to play a game? It's called "2 truths and a lie." I have used this party game many times to break the ice. The way the game is played, I'll go first, Is I will make three statements, one of which is a lie. Then, the next person goes and makes his/her three statements one of which is a lie. We play until everyone goes and makes a guess at each person's "two truths and a lie." After everyone has a turn I reveal which statement is a lie. We score one point for each lie correctly found out. Whoever has the most points wins the game.

Okay here are my two truths and 1 lie.

    1. I was married twice.

    2. I have been an active scuba diver for many years.

    3. I love the taste of orange juice.

Now, if there was a person before me I would guess at their "lie." We don't reveal if the "lies" are found out until everyone has a turn. That way everyone has a chance to participate. Then the next person to post goes next with their two truths and a lie plus their guesses on the people before them which was a lie and so on and so on. We play until everyone goes and then we go back and look at everyone's lies. One point for every lie found out. Does that make sense to everyone? Okay, who wants to play?

Okay, just to recap the game. I have the names and the lies however, I need some help on scoring.
    Name
McHuggs the lie was I am not an active scuba diver.
bee queen--the lie was not traveling around the world twice.
    ahorrosi-doesn't have red hair.
    wyverndust-hates oatmeal
The Airos-the lie was he didn't cheat on his wife.
rainbowssparks-doesn't get dizzy at the sight of blood.
jlittle-didn't live in Paris and Berlin.
    moosey-hates running.
If you got any of these could you send me a final comment so I can total the scores and see who wins. The way 43things is set up I can't determine who the winner is based on the comments submitted. If I spelled your name wrong, got the lie wrong or missed anyone I apologize, lol.

Hmmm seems older replies, like mine are being deleted. Mine were:

        2. I cheated on my wife with one of her friends.

One of my biggest regrets in life was as a teenager someone left the sprinkler on at night so I put in their open car window. As an adult I can imagine how devastating that would be, as a teenager I felt righteous and thought it was hilarious.

I have jumped out a car twice, out of a raft, and several boat - all whilst they were moving, have not jumped out of a plane, but not opposed to it.

The having an even number of eggs is true, it also annoys myself, but I really don't like odd numbers. When eating eggs I always eat two, when a recipe calls for 1 or 3 eggs I try to use just two, or recalculate it so it fits two. Still it happens that there is an odd number of eggs from time to time and that bothers me.

What is your most embarrassing moment in life. Where were you and why did you feel embarrassed at the time?
I had so many embarrassing moments in my life but one I can remember was in High School gymnastics class on the parallel bars we had to do a routine, so I did a roll on top of the bars and fell right through the bars onto the floor, well everyone laughed and I didn't think anything of it until I learned that the gym teacher was making fun of me in his other classes. I since became a gym teacher besides my other jobs in life and never made fun of a student of mine or allowed anyone to feel embarrassed in my physical education classes. I have never told this story to anyone but now, wow! that felt good. I don't hold any ill will to my physical education teacher to this day. Also, I learned to take whatever things happen to me in stride and laugh off those things that became embarrassing to me later in life.

@mchuggs too many embarrassing moments in my lifetime to think about what was worst, but one that comes to mind was:

I was 17 years old, and I was at the final band banquet at school. They called me up on stage in front of all the band, our parents and teachers, and gave me a horrible award saying it was keys to the band director's apartment. It was some plastic children's keys. I had a not so secret crush on the band director. I thought that was a very cruel thing to do to me and I was mortified. I still have bad feelings about the two individuals who carried out that stunt. I probably would not be civil to them if I encountered them today. I have not seen them or heard from them in 30 years, but I am not sure what exactly I would say to them now. I really despise them.

@wyverndust In high school, I called our local helpline once, for something. I was hurting. Got a young man about my age. Told him about my problem (whatever it was, almost everything hurt in those days).

A female ( I knew who she was from her voice) said, "Oh that's JLittle. She's crazy. She's always been crazy. She's a complete waste of time; just hang up on her." and I hung up.

I have never since called a help line or gone to a therapist or hospital in the town where I live. And, yes, if I encountered this woman, I don't remember her name now, but I know I would know it if I saw her again, I wonder if she even remembers this? And I think, no, probably not.

I have a public and private FB accounts. I would post regularly on my public FB account where I have around 220 followers. I don't know now since I went on a FB fast since before Thanksgiving last year that I just don't feel like being on FB.

I feel less stressed NOT being on FB and love being off it. I rarely tweet anymore and haven't in quite a few years. Maybe a few tweets a year. @mchuggs I am on FB and Linkedin . . . even though I actually know the people there, 43T always felt more genuine. I suspect we are a collection of mostly introverted people and find the superficiality that predominates most social media . . . trite and mundane . . . 43T was about what we are doing, what is important to us and the shared humanity that exists when we are struggling, together towards a common goal. No other social media platform has that, and some of us crave that. I know I do.

I actually tried posting random questions daily, to see who would play with me and answer them on FB, not many people did play. So glad to have this website back.

I joined 43 things in 2005-2006? or was it 2004? I made many new friends. My second marriage was going downhill as we were fighting all the time. I lost my job and became unemployed for about a year. I was taking care of my mom who had cancer and she passed away in January 2007. My divorce became final in August of the same year. I had about a dozen different jobs everything from teaching to environmental engineering. My dad became sick and broke his hip and developed Alzheimer's and Dementia. I took care of him for 4 and 1/2 years before he passed away in the Fall of 2013. I am on Facebook and writing about my dad. Since then I have been working in a garden center doing landscape work. I am battling depression and anxiety attacks with therapy and medication. I hope to regain my lost friendships with the older 43things crowd. ((((Huggs))))

Yesterday I went to see my therapist. I haven't been to see her in almost a year. She was on maternity leave and before she left told me I didn't need to see a therapist anymore. However, my situation has changed. I have a new girlfriend now, things are going on with my house that I need to do, trash papers I don't need. I feel overwhelmed at times. Things need to make more sense as time goes on.
What I should ask my therapist is, "what has changed that I really need to see a therapist now?"

    4/2

    1. Called my girlfriend up and we talked on the phone. She is excited about our trip to Mexico and we shared a hug on the phone.

    2. cheer bombed three people today and someone sent me a message that made me feel good about my comments.

    3. Left my lights on the car this morning but got a "jump" from my neighbor today. So I can go to work in the morning.

    4. Found my old journals up in the attic from 2010 and reading them now.

    1. Went to Mc Donalds for Breakfast and met an old friend. We talked about things and this and that.

    2. I visited the Ren Club later on this day and played Uno with two friends of mine I ended up losing by 90 points. This was fun but losing was not.

    3. A day off of work was great but snow is in the forecast next Tuesday, yikes. All in all this was turning out to be a good day and it's not over yet. Jut kidding :)

I have friends and hope to make new friends here on 43 things. A little about myself. I am a former environ. engineer, teacher, and currently working for a garden center performing some landscape and yard work. Divorced twice and my life now evolves around a new girl friend. I enjoy life and live for adventure in the coming ages. Here's to a great future on this web site. There's more to come. Thanks.

In the old version of 43things, what is one goal (or goals) you remember that was most memorable and why? For me the goal was, "Stop caring what other people think of me." Why? Because I was a feminist male, pro-choice, and supported equal rights for women. Also, I had goals such as: sign the Darfur petition, support a world where women can walk everywhere, stop domestic violence. become a florist, etc. So what are your goals you remember from the old 43 things?

@mchuggs The one I paid the most attention to was listing three things every day that made me happy. I've been thinking of some of the other ones and wondering if they are relevant any more. I haven't done all of them (learn a new language, for one) but I try to improve myself every day.

@mchuggs I loved taking part in some of the round the world journals. Can't remember who started off the ones I took part in, anyone else have any memories of this?

You can type any date in plain English like in 3 weeks or next month.
You can also type in recurring due date like every day, every week and every month.
