I'm starting March sick with a bad flu/cold which isn't the best way to build momentum for a new month.

This month I need the weather to cooperate so I can get running more outside. I'd like to get my mileage back up in the 10K range to gain momentum toward completing my goal of running a 10K this year.

I also want to get serious about planning my next trip to England. I know when I plan to go (late June), and I have the money in the bank for my tickets so I need to book my ticket this month.

I've set a goal to read 50 books this year, but so far I'm not on pace so I'd like to gain some momentum in reading.

We'll see what else the month and start of Spring brings, but so far this is what this first bootcamp will mean for me.

I booked my tickets today!! Last year I had a connecting flight in Dublin each way and a 23 hour layover on the way back that almost ended me. This time I went with a NON-STOP flight, and I'm beside myself. I'll leave around 7pm on June 22nd and arrive around 8am on June 23rd.

The Shepherd's Life by James Rebanks

If ever I thought it might be fun and romantic to become a sheep farmer, this book has taught me what a foolish idea that was. It's a fascinating look at what it's like to grow up in the unbroken line of centuries of shepherd's, the connection to the land, and the challenges of making it work in the modern world.

When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead

This was a reread for me. It's a young adult novel about friendship and time travel and has become one of my all-time favorites. Audrey read it for the first time a few months ago and also loved it.

Warning at One by Ann Purser

This is part of my current cozy mystery series, Lois Meade Mysteries. I chose them last year because they're set in the Midlands of England, the area I visited. They're light and fun and very British.

    1. The Long Weekend: Life in the English Country House, 1918-1939 by Adrian Tinniswood

My friend Jenna and I take turns choosing a book to read together each month, and this was her choice for January. It's a deep look into the weekend homes of the rich and royal during the interwar period. Sections on architecture were a little dull and dry for me, but when the focus shifted to the lifestyles and scandals of the time I was all in.
