    Today I am grateful for:

    EMDR therapy. Had a really great session yesterday.

    my husbands organizational skills. Our camping trip would have been a disaster without him!

    Cordon Bleu and Spatzle. So delish.

    A/C. It was in the upper 90's today.

    My bed. I missed it soooo much when camping. Sleeping on the ground sucks!

    Today I am grateful for:

    motivation from my husband

    spending more time with my brother lately

    school starting next week. I function better with structure and deadlines.

    interesting books about developing and keeping habits. I learned a lot.

    YouTube. I swear you can watch videos to learn how to do ANYTHING on there.

    Today I am grateful for:

    having gratitude as a goal. Been in a funk all day and realized the days I struggle with finding things to be grateful for are the days I need this goal the most. There is always something to be grateful for.

    a hot cup of chai tea

    beef stir fry and fried rice leftovers

    ibuprofin. Woke up with neck pain that turned into a killer headache.

    my sweet cuddly dog that always keeps me company

    my crazy puppy that tries to drown me with puppy kisses when I wake up everyday.

    Travelling

    Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?
    I just turned 40 so I'm in that weird inbetween stage where I'm trying to go from complacency to truly living.

    If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
    I'm 40 so I'd be dead?!? I would have never went to school and just travelled the world

    To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
    I haven't really controlled the course of my life and it's been pretty good so far, but now that I'm older I want to prioritize what I spend my energy and time on.

    Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
    I'm more worried about doing the right things than doing them right. There's usually more than one way to do something.

    Which is worse, failing or never trying?
    Never trying.

    If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
    I think we are taught that we have to do certain things to be part of society instead of being taught to forge our own path.

    When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
    At this point in my life it would be 'said more', but I'm trying to change that.

    What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
    Term limits for Congress. I believe it will cause a positive rapid change in the US government, which will make America better, which will ripple out through our relationships with other countries.

    So I ended up gaining 10 pounds instead of losing 10. Ugh. My husband even noticed that I've been gaining weight faster this past year compared to all the other years we've been together and then it hit me. It's my antidepressants. I've been taking them for a little over a year. They are way too helpful for me to quit, so now I have to buckle down on exercise and eating habits.

      @khryssizzle 😞 Antidepressants can be quite nasty with side effects like this, but since you take them for a reason they are the lesser of two 'evils'. Hope you get that exercising and eating routine going and hope you can quit the antidepressants some time in the future.

    I love Josh because he cares about family even when they're a hot mess and owe you money. My brother has been coming over everyday for the past few weeks and eating with us and hanging out while he's waiting for his first check at his new job.

    I love Josh because we came into some extra money and he drove to several stores and called around to find a Switch for me. He even went to a store at 9am on Sat while I was sleeping because a new shipment was coming in. Unfortunately, the store only got 10 and people were in line at 5am to get one.

    Went through all my bookshelves and will be donating about 90-100 books. My shelves were overstuffed and now they look kinda empty. I wish I had a virtual bookshelf that displayed my ebook covers the way you can get frames that cycle through your digital pics.☹

    We did our first canoe trip of the summer with friends and family. It was an overnight trip. The camping part only went OK, so I'm only doing day trips from now on. Next trip is going to be kayaks instead of canoes which means I'll probably flip a bunch!

    I made my ultimate dream schedule which includes time for chores and homework and all that other mundane daily stuff, but also includes time to learn art, yoga, martial arts,tai chi, japanese and read for fun and play video games. I've set aside time on Sunday for bubble bath/face mask/deep conditioning hair/painting nails etc. I have a regular date night with the hubby scheduled, grocery shopping/food prep for the week, dog training and daily dog walks. Now I just have to train myself to get up at 7am everyday so I can fit it all in 😖 One step at a time.

    I turned 40 last year and decided it was time to revamp my skincare routine. I added a Vitamin C serum and it made a HUGE difference. My skin is smoother, my pores look smaller, no more itchy red patches. I highly recommend it to everyone.

    I've tried 4 or 5 times and almost have the blush down. Still struggling with contouring. Why is this so hard!?!?

      @khryssizzle people think powder contouring is easier. I bought the cream contour and found it a lot easier (boyfriend was totally dumbfounded lol!). As soon as I figured out my correct face shape it really helped. I also used a WET beauty blender which is an absolute godsend. I was using it dry all along and it's just not as effective.

    I start EDMR on Friday. I'm really excited...and a little nervous. My therapist said it can be triggering, so I talked about it with my husband and my only responsibilities on Fri are cuddling and ice cream.
