the future when i will truly be happy with every aspect of my life not necessarily a spouse , though that would be nice, but when i can move out and have a job i truly like and only bother with people that completely understand me
reading, friends, movies and family
it has to happen soon. My mother either doesn't understand or doesn't want to that i can do everything and if Adam(my brother ) won't help she has to hire someone because she's not doing much to help me so she'll have to do more or move to a nursing home. it's way too much
I'm going to have more hours guarantee and slightly better 1's in a few weeks. Maybe it will happen this year.
i would like to see games on here . i like playing games on FB and that would be more interaction.
We should be able to find our old entries and put them here .
@markgamer From the old 43T? Is the new site actually ran by the same people/company?
@rainbowssparks I don't know. I wonder how we could find out.
@rainbowssparks it's not the same people. In the help section, it says http://help.43things.com/article/21-old-accounts-and-data-from-43things-com
@markgamer It's not, unfortunately. They have no connection to the old site and they've said they can't retrieve the entries. :(
@mycupofstars That's unfortunate . Oh well i guess there's nothing we can do about it.
@mycupofstars Even if it were the same people I'd doubt that they stored the data of the old site for this long. Why keep that server space when you can do so much else with it?
@rainbowssparks I thought you already knew , Of course not... the new site has nothing to do with the former guys that ran the old 43t and is ran and managed by @kuntzman and me (which is not easy)
@sahlavit I knew it was you and @kuntzman (and even suspected another user, wrongly it appears now ;)) in charge of the site, but had no clue about whether you were connected to the original robot co-op that ran the site back then. Brave of you to take it on with just two people, must be a lot of work. Grateful for the time you spend on it, you're both doing a good job.
i have been lifting more heavy boxes but i try not to lift too many so i don't sprain my back
i did have to lift several heavy boxes for almost an hour and a half but i had trouble so maybe i should join the gym
i gotta cut back on the sweets i known i've lost some but i also been getting very stressed the past few weeks . Hopefully i can get it under control.
Walking 1 way from work good. i wouldn't want to do both ways in the same though. It takes between 50 and 55 minutes. I usually wait a few minutes if i after work so i'm not so tired. I also got the gym with my friend.
I walked to work It seemed longer than walking home even though i took the same way. Luckily i got a ride home because after work i was sore and tired. The girl is really nice who gave me a ride I usually talk to at work.
@markgamer How far is your work and home?
@ligemst a little more than 3 miles
i'm going to really cut back on buying sweets with in the next month . The job is stressing me out which makes me eat sometimes. it's hard to get away from it even at home i have to deal with my mother which she doesn't make things easy.
i did walk home from work. it was a good walk kind of hot but i did manage to be in the shade for most of it. unfortunately it's going to get cooler for several days but i still might take a shorter walk.
@markgamer I want to walk more before the weather gets too hot here. Glad you are walking and nice to see you on here!
What do you most want to change about your life?
@fredvoorhies my body shape
@fredvoorhies way of learning
It's not perfect, that's not it. But I believe that things are as they are supposed to be, at any time. Including myself. Not to say I don't believe in self improvement, I do, but I don't think that is what you were asking, was it?
@fredvoorhies I'd like to be more in control of the events in my life. Sometimes I let things happen rather than make them happen.
@taylor I wish I could change my general health and fitness level. When you are in your 20's you don't appreciate how you look and feel. Now that I'm...well, let's just say my 20's are in my rear view window...I wish I had the energy and ability I had then.
@lauralee If my fifty-something self could speak to my 20- or 30-something self, I'd say take better care of yourself, get some exercise, floss regularly, etc. I'm not in terrible shape by any means, but I can see that some basic preventive maintenance would have gone a long way. The beautiful thing is it's almost never too late to start taking care of yourself!
@taylor lol! You got that right!
if you had enough money that you didn't have to work would you
@fredvoorhies i think the answer is 'yes', everything is work when it comes right down to it, even bossing everyone around so as to clean your clothes or trim your hedges or drive you to the symphony is 'work'
most likely by your question you mean 'would you go to some crappy 9 x 5 office hellhole or retail/food industry/factory to make a not-enough-for-the-hazards-and-drudgery hourly wage', the answer is fuck no, I'm pretty sure for everyone interviewed
i think with enough $ most ppl would gravitate towards doing somethiing they loved IE cooking, music, travel, helping pets, helping old people, running for office, etc.
@fredvoorhies I would not work for anyone. I might start up a pie-in-the-sky company for the pleasure of it, to offer employees good lives of their own. I'd curate art, travel, live a life filled with beauty and comfort. I'd live healthily and with luxury - not tasteless bling, but I'd buy the best-made material pleasures without the sharp intake of breath, hissing, "how much did that cost"?
I'd have a house full of dogs.
I wouldn't work i would fill my time traveling , reading , hanging with friends and watching movies and hopefully finding the right one for me. And maybe even be a mentor if i could.
@fredvoorhies I think I would with something in the creative field though.
@Andia I would probably still work, although I might be tempted to just work part time.
@fredvoorhies I'd go to part time and volunteer somewhere as well.
Who are you closest to in your family?
@fredvoorhies I'm guessing you're talking about parents & siblings? Or does that include husband and kids? If it's my husband & kids, I'm closest to my husband, then my son, then my daughter. If it's the family I grew up in, I'm closest to my dad, but my mom is a close 2nd.
@ligemst it includes everyone or anyone you want to.
Do you have any friends who you can't figure out?
@fredvoorhies I really try not to figure out my friends too much. People are the way they are for a reason or because they choose to be. Not judging. I can't hardly sometimes figure myself out, so why would I want to figure out someone else? LOL.
@ligemst LMAO i know what you mean i just sometimes want my friend to open up more to me I've known him for years and sometimes he seems very distant.
@fredvoorhies I think I'm the friend people can't figure out lol I'm just quite reserved for different reasons. I was part of this student group and one of the guys wrote a story with everyone from the group playing a role, and he gave everyone nicknames as to how he saw them. I was "Anne the Mysterious", carrying around a fairy tale book.. ha!!!
How do you feel about your job? What do you think of the company?
@markgamer Don't have a job at the moment, but the jobs I worked before were fine. I had a temporary job that involved an evening shift and I did find out this is nothing for me. I'd start at 19:00 and be done at 1:00, but often we were running late and it would be at least 1:30 before we could go home. So before I was home and in my bed it'd be at least 3:00. Don't do well on a schedule like that and I prefer day work. Never had anything to complain about the companies I worked for.
@markgamer I am currently a stay-at-home-wife/mom and usually I love my job. It's 24/7, but I have a lot of flexibility. It doesn't pay monetarily, but I get the joy of really creating an inviting, safe home environment for my husband and kids, as well as guests.
Previous to this, I was a professional mechanical engineer working for big corporate America. I retired from engineering at 38-39 yrs old, after 15 yrs because I really wanted to spend more time with my kids.
I think every company I worked for during my 15 yrs in Corporate America taught me a great deal. Three of the 4 companies were Fortune 100 or 500 companies. One was a small mom-pop company. Each were in different industries. I learned a great deal and was appreciative of the experience it gave me, as well as that I could make it as a female in a predominantly male oriented, good ole boy world.
There were fair and unfair things that happened during my career. I've had to suck up some things in order to stay an engineer and play with the big boys. I learned how to still be deeply feminine, maintain my identity without beating that into anyone and I could hold my own against all my male counterparts without lording it over them.
I saw women engineers who didn't appreciate they were women, or how tough it was in a male dominated world, so when they got to a certain place, they would really be awful people to work for or with because they had to prove they were better. You can be better, but you don't have to beat it into others to make them think so.
One company allowed me as a woman to advance far and do a great deal. The other 3 companies were very old school and a woman just couldn't be as good as a man, but I just used my intelligence, good communication, many of the things I learned from Dale Carnegie to win people to my side and produce amazing results.
In the end, no matter how much money I made, nothing could compete with my "Mother's Heart" to be with my children, to play with them, to teach them, to tuck them in at night, to pray with them, to be there for them in a way I could not working long hours as a lead engineer.
No company you work for will be perfect, not even the company you own and run. Be grateful for the job and if you hate your job, then leave and get a different job. I was tired of engineering and wanted to work in a different field. So I spent nearly $100K in educating and preparing for the next thing I would do, which I will be embarking on soon.
Wishful thinking, complaining, whining gets you nowhere. I have found if you don't like what you're doing, at least you're getting paid for it and while you are, set your plans in motion to do something different. This may take time and lots of patience. Mine is taking years to accomplish, but if you want it badly enough, you'll do what it takes to get there.
Lastly, if you don't like your employer, don't whine about it. Do something (legal and non-harmful) about it towards what you want to do. I see many people complain about their jobs and honestly find it being ungrateful. When you signed on, you said you would do the job. Sometimes it does stink.
Make and create opportunities for yourself. I have learned something and am grateful for every job I had ever . . . that included when I was working for myself doing yard clean ups, picking up dog poop, working in a grocery store, working for UPS in a hot hub, etc.
Sometimes being a SAHW/M is thankless. When I get in that mode, I make myself begin thinking about the alternative or when things were really bad. Voila!! The grateful feeling and attitude returns pretty quickly.
@markgamer depends. Is my company reading? ;)
shortly after the hours Amazon is history just staying to get the bonus it's too loud, too stressful and all the rest
the trip is up for now because of Irma but we are reschedule I'm still taking the time off from work if someone told me a billion dollar business acts the way Amazon does i would never believed working you realize all the shit is true
They're sending a replacement since i dropped and the screen inside broke hopefully it will be a week they said. I don't care that much but i suppose i do need it to keep in touch with people.
my passport came. I can't wait to get away.
i found a website where you can watch tv and movies for free http://watchfreez.net/
@fredvoorhies is this spam? this seems like spam. potentially illegal spam.
but maybe it's all old classics and stuff that's completely legitimately in public domain. and maybe you're just generously sharing because you are sincerely excited about it. Hard to tell these days.
@aenea Lol well he doesn't have a history of spam. If I share a link to a service I use for saving links for later, that I have nothing to do with, would you consider that spam? A person with spammy-looking goals and entries is definitely a spammer, but someone sharing links to services they don't own, (however questionable they might be,) most likely isn't. Now if he shares the same link over and over, then that's definitely spam.
@hopeslife well we don't know that he doesn't own or have an interest in said link. But yes he is established here and has no history of spamming, which is why I didn't flag the post.
However, it's surprising how complex some spamming and scamming schemes can be. I've seen some weird digital thievery where you wouldn't think they'd go to so much trouble. I like to be cautious about these things.
It's also always good to include some extra context when linking, to avoid confusion. Heck I feel guilty just mentioning Jeff Bezos or even GR or FB, and will try to obscure and minimize my link as much as possible, and aim to only link if asked for further details. Mentioning and linking are both forms of free advertising, intentional or not. Particularly in a forum like this that's crawling with search bots.
Also if you utilize a questionable service and you want that service to stick around, advertising it may not be the best approach. That said, this service may not be questionable at all; I have not looked at it closely.
@aenea i just found the site i don't own any part of it or anything like that. it has lots of old shows and movies. i thought some people would be interested in it.
despite a few things changing there's pretty much no way I'll stay past the holidays there. It's hard on the feet and the back. I don't feel I'm listened to and overall i really don't like it.
sometimes i do overdo about Amazon but i did put for a schedule change and it was rejected completely . I don't expect to get exactly what i want but i should have some say in my hours.
i really don't think the people in charge know what they're doing. it said flex up on the board an hour. They didn't change it at break but we went home at the normal time . I don't mind but when they do want us to stay they should call or email before hand. We're not there slaves or however they want to think of us. Just because we're there doesn't mean they own us,
part of the problem is coming home to my mother. i don't mind helping her but she acts too needy and it's mainly because she wants go out all the time after being tired from work i have to do this that and everything else it seems for her i wish i had the money to move out and my brother would help
supposedly going to New york for 2 days or so hopefully it's true
i really want to get away for a day or 3 by Labor Day hopefully i can find someplace cheap maybe even with Jeff if he wants 2
I'm going to try and take a weekend away in the fall. i hope to even if i have to myself.
i wish i could win money so i could do it now or at least find a full time job with better pay so soon
a few more days then winter is over still working on saving money so i can stay from winter for good
warm weather would definitely help my skin and maybe my allergies 2
i hate the winter and the fact that it's closer to 4 months. I would like to go somewhere it's always high 50's to mid 70's
i'm going to start the book Piercing either today or tomorrow. It described as a Japanese version of a David Lynch movie
i finished the book . It's an easy read . Now i'm reading Bare Bones. It's interviews with Stephen King over the years.
I took out a book called Mary and Ted and Rhoda and Lou It's about the MTM show. It's worth reading so far. If your fan look for it.
i'm going and start reading every day again the weather getting warmer so i will be able to get out every day in a few weeks
I haven't been reading nearly as much the past few weeks. i've been feeling kind of down . I don't know if it's the job , the weather or something else .
After saving, it will be sealed for 2 years. Are you sure you wrote everything you want?

I truly believe Augustine’s words are true and if you look at history you know it is true. There are many people in the world.
