I'm at 40. Only 10 more to go. Currently I'm working on A Gathering of Shadows, second in a trilogy called Shades of Magic. REALLY great characters. After that, it's a short story in an anthology. I'm still in A Bazaar of Bad Dreams. Then it's on to Sleeping Beauties! Then I'm not sure what direction I'll go in, but I'm thinking maybe John Grisham or a romance. I have a couple of Jude Deveraux's I haven't gotten to yet. But then again, I could start working on my Wheel of Time goal, or maybe a reread of The Bone Doll's Twin and continue on with that series.......such decisions! Maybe Artemis (Andy Weir). I could make a whole list of books I want to get to. My tbr is huge. lol

@diamondlightfoot don't you love a great book/series?? It's one of those bitter sweet things where you want to see how it ends but hate when it's over.

@Andia It took me forever to read the last of the Dark Tower books. I just didn't want it to end. I've got so many I want to read and not nearly enough time to do it in. I'd have to live to 107 to get through half of them. I have a number to reread, too. And series to continue with (and revisit). I love the Shades of Magic trilogy. Most of the joy in a book for me is the characters and if they're well written, that puts me right in the middle of the pages.

I'm at 25 and still need to put the list together. I don't know how I'm getting so sidetracked. One that I recently finished is on a recommend list: Soleri by Michael Johnston. If you like ancient Egypt, this fantasy (which reads a bit like historical fiction) will be up your alley. Great book. I'll have to see what else he has written that I might be interested in.

I'm up to 20 for the year on goodreads. I hope to work on and get finished Soleri by Michael Johnston today. Tor requested a review. It comes out June 6th, if I remember right.

My fitbit itself was acting normally all day. Tonight I found out there was an update for it and it hadn't recorded me all day. It says I walked all of 39 steps all day. sigh Which just goes to show that I REALLY need to make a better effort at doing my 10,000 steps a day.

I went in for a workout yesterday and plan another one this morning. If I can do this every day I'm not working, it'll help make progress. I can't always do it on the weekends with Harlan home. My fitbit helps me figure out where I'm at in the workout. Very helpful little piece of tech.

I went into Anytime this morning and got in a workout before heading off to do grocery shopping. My fitbit should be pleased with me today.

I have a membership at Anytime Fitness and their new app links to my fitbit so I think it's time to get serious about this.

This is something I've wanted to do since the series was finished. If I put it as a goal, maybe I'll have the incentive to do it!

@diamondlightfoot Yeah I can relate, I first started reading the Wheel of Time series in Middle School under the delusion that it was only a double trilogy. I got as far as Lord of Chaos before which there was a long enough gap to the next book coming out that I gave up.

@celticchristian I have all the books, I think in a box in my utility room (I have four filled bookcases and need to thin those out). One of these days I'm going to get started on this. I remember when I read the first book. I sat there all day and almost finished it. My husband has listened to all the audiobooks. I think that puts him ahead of me. lol

We're going to do a shorter travel this weekend. Harlan's birthday is on Monday and I took the weekend off so we could go to Oklahoma and play at Winstar. The best thing is that we'll be away from everything and we'll be spending time together. I'll have his undivided attention. 🙂

I'm not sure how it decides the orders of these things, but traveling is one of my favorite things in the world and I try to do it, even if it's only locally, every year.

@diamondlightfoot Travel is a passion, a wander drug. I've been to 32 different countries (many repeats) and can't stop, never stop. The world is a gift. We must see and experience all we can. Boat, plane, car, or train, whatever gets you there. Enjoy.

    1. A day off of work and I didn't go anywhere. That was kinda nice. No errands, just things to do around the house.

    2. It was a goldilocks kind of day. I didn't have to have the air conditioning on. I didn't have to have the heat on. It was just right.

    3. Silly Lyric has a stick she likes. She carries it around and likes to make sure I know she has it. She'll have it in her mouth and meow until you see her. Then she'll put it down and let you pet her. Then she'll go off with the stick again.

    1. I got an appointment out of town done in a reasonable amount of time. Sometimes one will take longer than another.

    2. Treating myself to Dairy Queen for lunch. I don't do that very often and I think the last time I had fast food was last year in the fall, so if it's once a year, that's not bad. I refuse to go to McDonald's, though.

    3. I caught up with some things on the dvr. I hope to do some of that again today, although reading is on the list of things to do. And laundry. And floors.

    1. I spent four hours at work not doing much of anything. All the excitement was the day before. I did make an appointment for Monday, though!

    2. I finished up more laundry (it's never ending..you'd think we wear clothes every day or something). I got the dishes done. Today I think I need to work on floors after I get home from an away appointment.

    3. General Hospital! How can two Jasons have the same memories? One of them is a clone, I swear.

    1. Early to work and late to home. A long day, but I got everything done that I was supposed to do and got some major clients taken care of. It's a good feeling. I also found out one of the huge clients didn't get in for extensions (one of those that will make you wait for the last minute and then doesn't have anything together so you'll be there even longer). She'll file late but she'll come in when I have the time and it was nice to let other people get the last spots for a change.

    2. Seeing both John and Sam at work. Sam had a new class starting, so that was entertaining. I think John was being nosy about her students, but he's a nice guy and helps out a lot when he can. They actually don't like each other much, so it's always entertaining to me to watch them attempt being nice to each other.

    3. I got my ptin renewed and it didn't cost me anything. That's the number that's required to allow me to do other people's taxes. It's nice having that taken care of. Normally it costs money, but the IRS was sued and can't (at this moment) charge for it any more. They are renewed annually and the IRS was making $50 for every person paid to do taxes for anyone else annually. The number is renewed every year, so you can imagine how that totals up. It used to be $65 annually but they were pressured to lower it two years ago.

    1. I spent the whole day in my pajamas. I felt so decadent! It's much more comfortable to do housework in the jammies.

    2. I got a lot of laundry done. Today is going to be a long day at work (those that filed extensions, today is the last day to file your taxes in the US) so I wanted to get that out of the way.

    3. Watching Shark Tank with Harlan. He never watches what I do, but he forgot to record his baseball game. If the Cowboys had been on, too, it would have been that. So it was fun!
