I've got bags in the car ready to go. They've been in the car a shamefully long time. I also have a bedside pile that stresses me out and a wardrobe that could use purging, not to mention a bunch of journals and paper and magazines and such.

I became a full-time parent to my husband's son about 18 months ago after a happily child-free life. I've known Little since he was two and he's considered me his stepmom for years.

I want to be a good parent. I don't expect to be a spectacular parent. Little is thriving with the two of us. Doing well in school, happy for the most part, and he knows he's well loved.

Being that I'm a kept woman now, after thirty years of supporting myself, I might as well cultivate the charms of a courtesan. They were art patrons, influenced world politics, and were often the only women of their time who could own property in their own names and pursue education. Indeed, they were required to be witty, charming, daring, skilled, and accomplished experts in subtlety, grace, discretion, and enchantment. Sign me up!

I'm at almost 20 miles of walking for the week and I edited 24 pages of the novel. My glutes are definitely feeling the squats and lunges I did yesterday!

Momentum is walking 25 miles every week, doing a different strengthening exercise every day, and editing 35 pages of my novel each week. I'm doing alright on those first two, but need to get moving on the third.

I did lunges and squats yesterday and counter pushups today. I've walked nearly 20 miles this week, so I'm on track with my goal of 25 a week. I think I may be onto something with doing one strengthening exercise every day. It doesn't take long, isn't grueling enough to arouse my resistance, and if my aching glutes are any indication, it's working!

My permanent subgoal is to walk 25 miles every week. My March subgoal is to do a different strengthening exercise every day. Today it's squats and lunges.

When it isn't raining, walking the boy to and from school gives me nearly four miles of exercise, Monday through Friday. When it does rain, I'm not adjusting. I've lost six pounds since the beginning of the year and I feel and look better. I'd like to lose another ten. Not too grand a goal, since I've cut my alcohol intake greatly. Losing another four or five would make our spring camping holiday more fun.

I'd also love to build upper body and ab strength. I've been going to the gym once a week with my sister, which is a start, and doing small spurts of exercise here and there at home.

I started writing poems regularly during napowrimo (National Poetry Writing Month), so I'll begin again starting on April 1st. I miss meeting the Muse daily.

I edited 20-some more pages today. Stephen King is so right about adverbs. Kill them all!

I've read and edited the first thirty pages and am cautiously optimistic. Perhaps a deadline for the first go-through would help? (No, Cora, it wouldn't, because your rebel side would immediately make sure she wasn't restrained by such a thing. Being a rebel is frustrating, y'all!)

You can type any date in plain English like in 3 weeks or next month.
You can also type in recurring due date like every day, every week and every month.
