    Update
@BeingBryn thanks for following up and the remainder that it has been a while since I posted an update.

Around a month ago I had a psychiatrist take over the management of my medication, which was previously being done by my primary doctor. I am starting to improve but still have a long way to go. My anxiety attacks are down but I am still getting anxiety spikes that have the potential of turning into attacks if I am not careful.

    Yikes
I knew that I have not had as much interest in food over the past few days, but I was shocked to find out that I've managed to lose 4 pounds in the last 5 days.

I have come to realize over the past few days that I am much worse than I had previously realized. It turns out that selective memory and forgetting is a mental self defense coping measure, so I have been brushing it aside and forgetting for way too long. A few days ago as suggested I started keeping a log of things and now if feels as if I am really crashing. I am not sure if this is because I am simply becoming more aware or if being more aware is making me more depressed.

@celticchristian You will overcome. Funny thing that unexpectedly helped me a lot. I took a course in university on memory and the short story: Memory is very, very inaccurate. So most of the stuff you remember happening is very skewed and way open to questioning. So all the stuff that we go to that validates our 'sad feelings' didn't actually happen the way we think it did.

Two things that I found important with this cognition: One - devalue the importance of the memory; Two - feel free to edit for your benefit.

I know the second one sounds a bit strange. But Bush does it all the time and he became president and from all appearances has a very healthy self image. Something to think about

@celticchristian hey old friend... so sorry to hear you're dealing with this. I second the idea of keeping track. I use an app on my phone (iMood Journal, but I think there are similar apps), and for me it was a game changer. I hope things get better!

Today was really good progress as I only had raw vegan meals today. Although I am starting to wonder if I should have been tracking my calories as I may have under eating today. Today I had a blender of smoothie (4 dates, 1 Tbs shredded coconut, 1 seaweed sheet, 2 frozen strawberries, a handful each of frozen papaya, mango and pineapple chunks) and a watermelon - yes the entire watermelon but one of the small round ones.

    A date has been set
In the fall I will be teaching an adult Sunday School unit on prayer. After a few weeks of looking around at various books and teaching material sets I have yet to find something that fits my needs. So I decided to write my own book to base the class around. Now that I have a firm date set as to when I need to have a refined draft fit to share with others.

I just discovered a new app called PhotoScan from Google which produces very easy and good quality scans of your pictures without the problem with glare and off angles common when you try to take a picture of a picture. It works by guiding you how to move your phone over the picture and is available for both Android and iPhone. Assuming you are not after super high quality images to blow up into a poster this app is a huge time saver as it does a good enough job much faster than a computer scanner.

    It really builds on you
So far I have found coloring mandalas to be really helpful in managing anxiety. While the Celtic mandala coloring book was without a doubt helpful, the Celtic knotwork at times can be a bit more complex. So I wanted to pick up something more simple for variety. I also discovered that Crayola now makes mechanical colored pencils which they call Twistables. The combination a cheap price and looking cheap - they are around $7 for a box of 30 and look a bit like extra long crayons - caused me to be uneasy about getting a box to try. I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how well they perform.

After doing some reading about how adult coloring books are said to have mental health benefits I figured it was a given that I needed to give them a try. So I picked up supplies yesterday during a Walmart run. Among the 3 adult coloring books available in the book section was one of Celtic Mandalas which was the obvious choice. I wasn't sure about markers vs colored pencils so I picked up both to find out which I end up enjoying using more.

@celticchristian I have those same colored pencils! Oooohhhh I like the markers and the book too. Alas, I have vowed NOT to buy any more art supplies for a while. (I have plenty.) Have fun! And it is very relaxing and meditative, coloring.

@beequeen I understand I am like that with office supplies (especially pocket notebooks) and want to avoid getting that way when it comes to art supplies. The markers do produce nice results but are a bit wet which makes them awkward to use as one needs to take the bleed range into consideration which makes them less relaxing to use compared colored pencils.

@celticchristian Yeah, you do have to take the into consideration re markers eh? I am glad to hear that some of us still like to use and purchase paper and paper products, pencils, pens, notebooks, et.al, for work or play. That everything isn't digitized. That hand/manual design and and penmanship still have a fighting chance in the digitized age.

Some time ago I was recently given an ebook which has the entire Wheel of Time series which ended up being 15 books long. I first started reading this series when I was in middle school. When I first started reading the series I was under the impression that it was only 6 books long. By the time I had finished book 6 there was over a year delay until book 7 was published. At that point, I had forgotten most of what had happened already so I just figured I wouldn't bother until it was finished. Years later I heard that the author had died leaving the series unfinished. When I heard that he had left a detailed outline of the rest of the series up to the end and that he widow had asked another writer to finish what her late husband had started. Now around 20 years after I read the first book I have the whole series on my computer and tablet, so I have no excuse to finish what I started in middle school. Going into it again the only thing I remember about it now is that at the time I remember having trouble deciding if it was better than J. R. R. Tolkien's Hobbit and Lord of the Ring series, which is enough to start at the beginning and work my way through.
