I've been saying on and off that I will join a gym for about 6 years now!

Last week I finally went and tried out a few classes (core workout and step class) to get a taste before I commit myself to a membership. I think I can see it becoming a regular part of my routine.

I've started reading Ready Player One by Earnest Cline again having stopped when I was about 1/3 through the book not because it was boring but I just happen to be one of those people that would put a book down and not pick it up again for ages for no good reason. I want to read more fiction so I think I'll have this on the go as I read non-fiction books like the ones I've already listed here.

I'm a few pages into yet another book by Gabrielle Bernstein: Miracles Now. My fourth and last of the bulk order of her books I received at the start of the year. This is broken up into 108 little chapters of exercises so it may be an easy book to pick up when I have a spare moment.

I don't have any reading goals for the year but I would like to read my other books: Ready Player One by Earnest Cline and The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco which I have really been meaning to read for so long!

I've finished Gabby's book "The Universe Has Your Back". I thought her real life stories that she uses as examples of her being out of alignment with the universe were totally relatable and quite reassuring that even authors of spiritual books like herself have moments where she needs take a step back to recognise when her thoughts are getting in her way of connecting to a miraculous way of life. I would like to read this again!

I've started reading more this year thanks to books that are more aligned with my current reading capabilities. They're not too long and don't use language or plot that is overwhelmingly difficult to understand. I'm finally starting to realise that those chunky novels aren't for everyone - yet - and that shorter books can be just as enjoyable.

Currently reading: The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein

I've been wanting to start a channel for years. I now have a desktop computer that can handle all the video editing apps so I'm looking forward to shooting my first video and uploading it onto YouTube. I am thinking of making something for my fiance for Valentines Day so may be I'll film a video related to that.

I know it sounds cliched but it's not enough seeing the Big Apple just in movies or in TV series - I want to go there myself and look up at the tall skyscrapers and be astonished by how fast people walk etc.! The place seems almost too big to even know where to begin planning but you gotta start somewhere, and for me it always starts with art galleries. Guggenheim and MoMA. Okay, nothing new here but at least it's a start :)

@artfellow whoa, last time I was in NY that's exactly where I went, guggenheim and MomA! Actually, that was the next to last time, the last time i went my leg was in a cast and all I could do was sit in a starbucks in the garment disctrict, but that's neither here nor there

@ahorrasi Cool that you went to the two galleries! What did you think of them? I'm sorry your leg was in a cast! That must have been annoying but I'm sure it gave you an excuse to do lots of people watching!

@artfellow I know you posted this a month ago but as a proud New Yorker, I'm here to say "Please come and visit!!" I'll be happy to show you around and share some tips (e.g.Moma is free on Friday evenings, Met is pay whatever you want, Am Museum for Natrl History I have friends who score free tickets, etc.)..

Sorry that was a rant, but I think you're super cool for exploring and seeking places for cultural enrichment, and not just only for the thrill of traveling :D

My partner broke his ankle last weekend and his friends have been so good to him, coming around to cook for him as well as bring take aways to the hospital. He had his surgery yesterday and is being discharged today so this definitely calls for a celebratory hot pot party with his friends to say yay and thanks. Hot pots are definitely the way to go since it's getting much colder these days.

My parents are going on holiday in about two weeks so it will be a good opportunity for me to host something here while they're away 😆 I envision it being a indoor/outdoor BBQ kind of thing where people can bring their own food to grill on the BBQ and I can provide the bread, salad, potatoes, the basic side dishes. Would be nice!

I like taking part in them but I have never led a team to victory yet! It would make me really happy to win a pub quiz. I don't know how I could possibly train for this. I guess general knowledge of history and geography is a must but if anyone has any good suggestions for how I can get better at this goal, I would love to hear them!

E-mail is convenient but I love stationery too much to give up on letter writing. I used to write quite a bit to friends who lived overseas when I was younger but I really haven't written a letter and sent through the post in a long time!

@kuntzman Cheeeers to that, lol! Oh hey, do you plan to set up a blog/Twitter page? Lol I could help with this if you wanted me to, but I'd need you to pass all the super-secret beta stuff to me ahead of time... :)

@kuntzman  Lol I never lie about that stuff. In other words, yeah I'm sure. You'll have to set up a subdomain and install WP though if that's OK. We can use something else if you want. I have screen reader issues with Tumblr but we could use Medium if that's your thing. You'll also need to tell me which Twitter username you think you can get. I'll then have you create an account with WP and give me contributor/editing access, I don't need to be an administrator. We can talk further about this privately.

@kuntzman  Lol, is there actually super secret beta stuff? Hah! Lol and do I get to break it um... woops, I mean test it ahead of time? Don't worry, I don't break stuff on purpose! Oh hey, I can also do Subreddit creation if you want me to. Loll come to think of it, I can do all the various social media things, except Instagram, which well... that's obvious.

I can't actually remember what year I started using 43Things before the site went down but I'd say three years at the very least! I really enjoyed the positive and encouraging community as well as the user friendliness of the website itself. Some of the goals I achieved during that time was starting a vege garden and going travelling overseas - and along with other goals they have played a big part in shaping the person I am today. I am so happy that this website is up and running again and that someone has put in lots of hard work bringing it back. I don't know who you are but thanks for all you've done so far!

You can type any date in plain English like in 3 weeks or next month.
You can also type in recurring due date like every day, every week and every month.
