This is a very good idea. I also want to run marathon. In that year I ran a lot and almost every day. I ran 21 km in 2 hours. You need to run every day and once a week run 5-10 km.

D-23 before Paris Marathon, feeling a bit anxious but mostly excited!
The training is hard, but it's getting me stronger.
I have a thought to all of you guys who are also running your first marathon. Maybe we will be next to each others on the starting line ?
    Good luck to y'all !

Today I'm going to redownload c25k and try and run it when I'm not so sick (or I will quite possibly die), so probably in two or three days. I'm going to make a chart for each day I need to run. Then on from there.

I am an experienced non-runner. Right now, this goal for me is like a very distant dream. Hope to get there some day though...

@MartinBustos such an awesome euphemism πŸ˜† I think the most important thing to keep in mind here is that everything starts with one first, small step - in this case, even more so. Never give up on your dreams, no matter how distant they seem

@jaymonroe I totally agree, that is why I fill my list with all the things I would want to do now or in the future, no matter how distant they might seem.
btw, this weekend I dragged myself to the park to do some running, was amazed how many people actually do this

I ran my first half-marathon in February 2013. I also participated in a disastrous half-marathon last November. I only ran the first 8 miles. I didn't really train that much.

I'm not sure if I'm going to run a half-marathon again this year or not. As of late I've shifted my focus from distance running to speed, because I play rugby and I think it'll be more useful for that. I just don't have time right now to work on both.

So, the full marathon will definitely not be this year, and maybe it won't be next year either. Maybe it won't happen until the day I stop playing rugby (although, this will only happen by force, and if I'm too injured for rugby I'll probably be too injured for running too). My original goal was to run one by the time/when I was 26 (get it, because 26 miles), but that time has passed so now there's no real time constraint.

You can always see it in km - 42km - I bet you still got time till that number.

@MartinBustos Quite a bit of time, let's hope it doesn't take that long! (I'm 27)

You can type any date in plain English like in 3 weeks or next month.
You can also type in recurring due date like every day, every week and every month.
