Now the wedding has been pushed a bit back it will overlap with the 5K run in september. Boo!

In all honesty I also haven't been running the past few weeks, my knees really hurt and it has been so hot. I might go again tomorrow, but by now I've been saying that for the past 2 weeks. Having a physical demanding summer job, in which I need to stand all day, really doesn't make me want to run in the evenings.

Toe is healed enough, but it was too damn hot the past few days. It cooled down a bit and ran my 11th lesson out of 30. I also registered for a 5K in the beginning of September. Shiny medal here I come!

This went well for about 3 runs the past week and then I dropped a cordless drill on my bare foot. My middle toe is all black and blue and eventhough I can still walk surprisingly painless, however sensitive, I decided to skip at least today and see on sunday if I can continu.

Started again, skipped right to lesson 7 and it went well. Weather is nice, hopefully I can stick to running the next few weeks.

I was at a party this past weekend, my first real road trip, and someone commented that "5ks are a joke." I would like to complete a tough mudder by next year's event and figured a 5k was a good place to start... Even if 43 Things is the only one who knows it.

@lasalamander Ha - love this. πŸ™‚ I was thinking of someone else on 43T who has broken down the goal even further (1K, 5K, etc.). I was thinking that is what I should aim for. Start with 1K and work my way up.

@lasalamander One organized marathon had a 5k 'fun run' at the same day, for people that don't want to run the marathon. The only thing I could think of that is that there are people that practically die running a 5k (raising my hand), so making it seem that everybody can run a 5k is a very common misconception it seems. It's also not really motivating.

I've been practicing for a month now. I've been using the c5k app. I've found it to be very helpful. So far I use it every other day and if I want to run on a non app day I just practice at my own pace. So far its working well. I can run for a 1.5 min without stopping after walking a min(6 times each). My next step up on the program is 2 min running and 1 min walking(6 times). The best part is I don't trip and fall flat on my face. Hahaha. I have a 5k and a half marathon I've signed up to do in the next few months.

You can type any date in plain English like in 3 weeks or next month.
You can also type in recurring due date like every day, every week and every month.
