Shaun T just murdered my soul #focusT25 #outofshape #day1 #whodoesthisforfun
Ok starting measurements:
Weight: 219 lbs.
L bicep: 18" R bicep: 18.5"
L thigh: 26.5" R thigh: 27"
L calf: 16.5" R calf: 16.5"
My current stats are:
176.4 lbs (Weight): -1.3 lbs. 33.2% (Body Fat): -0.6 31.9% (Muscle Mass): +0.2 47.5% (Water): +0.5
24.4 lbs to go! My goal weight is 148-152 lbs.
Ah the thin man inside me wants out. He has been trapped in the emotional fat man that turns to food for comfort for some time now.
The thin man disappeared 16 years ago when my then girlfriend got pregnant. I wanted to be supportive and her food cravings had us going for ice cream at midnight and other such dangerous activities. So as she put on weight so did I. Then son was born and she looses a bunch of weight and I didn't.
Fast forward to child #3 and I am 255 pounds and ugh, that is roughly 75 pounds more than I should be. I hit a wall and started exercising and drinking lots of smoothies. In a little under a year I am down to 200. Whoot! Feeling good, looking pretty good, feeling confident that I will get to the coveted 180. Thin man on the verge of returning . . . But hold on?
Girlfriend who became a wife, no longer loves me and wants a divorce. Ugh. My industry has a structural change that puts my business in jeopardy, ugh, have to sell house and move ugh? Lose business in shady take over, ugh. Unemployed ugh, Mom needs to move into care home, ugh, Fire in my house ugh, Dad dies ugh . . . dating again after 18 years was mostly ugh . . . UGH UGH UGH - Bottom line - a lot pizza, fast food and soda was consumed in those 5 years.
2 years later and here I am: Building my life up again to a better than ever version. New business starting to get traction, which was, and remains, the highest priority. I am putting together a 1/3/5 year plan to make my life . . . well greater!
A major component of the 1 year plan is this, get in shape project. I am sitting at 218.4 pounds. Which isn't too bad all things considered. I am 38.4 pounds from my ideal weight. Ideally I just want to be constantly 180 something. I have been around 215 for 3 years now. I know I can maintain a plateau. So my goal is 185. Just 30 pounds. My bigger goal is habit change, I don't like how I look, more importantly I feel 'ugh' most days without any external factors coming in. Eating better and exercise will make that better and I will be better equipped to handle those external factors now.
Sooooooo so glad 43 things has come back, I look forward to supporting one another in this shared goal.
@TheAiros I have had one hero on 43things, and now you are my second hero :D
Another 3 pounds lost, so now I'm at a total weight loss of 45 pounds so far! YAY!
My current stats are: 175.9 lbs (Weight): -1.8 lbs 34.5% (Body Fat): +0.7 31.2% (Muscle Mass): -0.5 46.5% (Water): -0.5
My goal weight is 148-152 lbs.
Grrrr, maybe a bunch of white bread with sausage and sower cream were not the best choice for diner, which at 10 pm was not a good choice in itself. Where's my discipline! Maybe it's time to bother gods... please gods and lovely angels, hold my hand tomorrow night.
My current stats are: 176.6 lbs (Weight): -1.1 lbs 33.8% (Body Fat): 0.0 31.6% (Muscle Mass): -0.1 47.0% (Water): 0.0
The doctor said I'm 22 kg overweight. I think there is room for improvement here. Emergency room.
Do you know how much muscle, fat, and bone density you have?
What kind of lifestyle you love?
What is your like and dislike food?
@8inni8 The problem is I don't "look" like I am 22 kg overweight. And my brain cannot comprehend I am that overweight. I used to measure this and that, but other than lack of muscle mass and excessive amount of fat all over, everything else is normal (bones, water), so I don't understand where all the fat is. I am 167 cm, and I look less fat than my male friend who is the same weight and 180 something high. I thought it were bones, or muscles, but - according to the measurements, no. I think my lack of ability to comprehend my size (with not that bad look in my mirror) is preventing me from seriously dealing with this weight. Also, I always think I am young I still have time, I can't comprehend I am almost 38 and I should hurry up.
lack of muscle is bad enough to have weight problem because with the same volume of muscle, it would be 3 times heavier than fats.. What you need to do it to increase more muscle mass and cut off fat.. and about your bone density, you should get it properly "measure" not just "think" of the fact..
if you don't mind, you can send your full figure picture for me to see, so I could tell where those fat deposits at..
@8inni8 Oh, no, I don't "think" about my measures. I did get measured by a nutritionist. The thing is I have bulky muscles. So I always thought I have a lot of weight in my muscles. But still, the measures showed especially my arms are weak. If I do any exercise even for a few days, they grow. I guess my muscles would be any body-builder's dream, but I really don't like bulky. So I just stick to yoga now. And outdoors activities like gardening. I don't feel comfortable sending my photo, though. It should be a bikini photo, I guess. I am burning fats quicker than normal, so that helps a lot. But my callory intake is far more than 2000 per day. I need to change the whole lifestyle (sleeping, eating, exercise habits). I hope 43 things will help me get encouragement to create new healthy habits.
My current stats are: 176.6 lbs (Weight): -1.1 lbs 35.7% (Body Fat): +1.9 30.7% (Muscle Mass): -1.0 45.5% (Water): -1.5
@danita What are you doing to lose weight? Do you take body measurements too?
Hi @ligemst I'm just eating a light diet which includes: (yogurt, protein drink, rice cakes, boiled egg whites, cooked rice & broccoli, and a salad). I'm also exercising - doing some ab work, pushups, and following this step aerobic workout: https://youtu.be/rV-87UCJvoQ?list=PLL3A561Gv5Zpqy9O_t_zp7juZgqp6nyPM
@danita Cool. I love Fitness Blender. I enjoy eating too much to keep it that simple, but if it works, you like it and keep it up, go for it. :) You're doing great!
@ligemst Thanks. I just realized that I didn't answer the second part to your question. I haven't taken my measurements recently. I did last year and I will do it again once I get all the weight off.
After saving, it will be sealed for 2 years. Are you sure you wrote everything you want?
Changing the goal title is basically creating or joining another goal. All your activity and media will move to the new goal.
Removing this goal from your done list will delete all it's activity and you will not be associated to this goal anymore. Try edit this entry instead
I truly believe Augustine’s words are true and if you look at history you know it is true. There are many people in the world.
