    1. My daughter (14 years) 'ran away'..well, not really...she went for a long walk but didn't tell the foster-parents. (She doesn't live with me anymore because I'm sick/ill but I live close by). She was very upset with the foster-mom. But at least she texted me and let me pick her up when she calmed down. Later the foster-dad came to ask her if she wanted to go with him or walk home later. He was not concerned but just assumed she went home to her mom. She decided to go with him. I'm so happy I stayed home today - was planning on visiting my fiance today but didn't.

    2. My own mom whom I called and who always tells me I'm doing the right things as a mom to my children.

    3. Not getting too harmed when falling - forgot I opened the dish-washer. It hurt but everything is fine now.

    1. Sleeping in. At least as far as Lyric would let me.

    2. A lazy day. I refused to feel guilty about it. Harlan slept in another three hours after I got up.

    3. I made the emergency pizza for supper on purpose.

    Monday, August 14

    1. I slept in. Only a little but no one had to be anywhere until 9 so it felt like sleeping in

    2. Our crazy cats. Three of them suddenly ran full-bore through the house during dinner

    3. I started straightening up the storage room

    Tuesday

    1. Barrett was here in the morning. He's so funny. And curious and active. Then he fell asleep on the couch after lunch and he was so cute. It made me wish I had slowed down and wondered and marveled at my kids more. Or at least, that I remembered that time better

    2. Sophie failed her driving test again but was MUCH more okay with it

    3. My kids. Wow. Our president is an idiot and Todd almost seems to defend him in his quest to play devil's advocate...but Sophie and Will have minds of their own!

    Wednesday

    1. Busy day

    2. Garden bounty=very veggie dinner

    3. Our chickens laid 4 eggs!

    Thursday

    1. Lunch with Sophie and Will

    2. I met with an OSU PhD student interviewing community leaders about energy options. Very interesting

    3. Magnificent storm left us without power until almost 11pm. So we went out for dinner and then sat on the front porch until well after dark. All the other neighbors-in-the-dark were on the porches, too, and playing in their yards. It was nice

@amybb25 I agree the president is an idiot. Course, I live in Texas and I'm definitely the minority around here. Harlan defends him often. It makes me wonder how gullible Harlan is. He's a smart man usually, but he's gullible to the point of believing without learning for himself sometimes.

@amybb25 R gets that way sometimes. But he's also most apt to spout the opinions of those he is around the most, and he's been around pretty much just me and the kids for 6 years now, so he didn't have the opportunity to be a Trump supporter. πŸ˜ƒ However, he still occasionally says things that make me cringe. I'm doing my best to gently educate him. (We're in Tennessee. I've referred to myself a a speck of blue glitter on a sea of red pick-ups. Minority doesn't even begin to cover it!)

    1. Taking the shoelace away from Lyric for a while so I can have a reprieve. I feel bad about taking away her fun for a bit, but I feel happy about her not tearing up the bed. Or chair. Or floor.

    2. Harlan finally got the trees growing in the sidewalk out of there. The squirrels love our pecan trees. They hide them everywhere. The porch is full of broken shells.

    3. The battle of the Swiffer. I was trying to Swiffer the bathroom floor and Lyric insisted on sitting on top of the Swiffer and then trying to get the cloth off of the bottom of it. While she was sitting on it. It took longer to Swiffer the floor than one would imagine.

    3. My fiance texting me because we have been together 8 months today.

    Such a wonderful day :)

    1. Harlan had the day off. He mowed the lawn while I caught up on a couple of things. Laundry is still pretty much done and that's something that makes me happy. I need to work on the floors and I'm thinking of joining one of the walk 10,000 steps a day goals. I really need to work on that.

    2. Lyric has her shoelace back and is back to battling it everywhere in the house. It's a viscous combat, but she mostly wins. I found it in one of my shoes. She must have been saving it, since I lost track of it. Her favorite place to battle it is on the bed while someone is sleeping.

    3. Texture. I love that app. It's been promoted as being Netflix for magazines and it is. When we do the grocery shopping, sometimes I'll see something I want to read more about and check it out when I get home.

@diamondlightfoot lol lyric is a delight for others not in midnight slumber.

I really need to do the 10k challenge too. After I establish my exercise routine and walking daily then I will ramp up to that.

    1. A couple of days in one. I didn't have my laptop with me when we went out of town. So, the first one: we went out of town! It was to celebrate our anniversary. We were going to go to Shreveport, but couldn't afford to be gone too long, so we made a quick overnight trip to Winstar. The room was comped, so it was free!

    2. A free buffet for both of us for dinner. Nothing very exciting, but it's nice to have a choice. The chicken was better than last time (as I remember..it's been a while). It wasn't as greasy.

    3. Harlan won enough to keep playing and still put away money for his speeding ticket. I was a bit worried about that.

    4. Checking out some of the slot machines. We never did make it down to the off track betting room. That place is huge. If you ever go, plan on doing a lot of walking. But they had some new machines and going during the week, you actually can play them if you like.

    5. Checking out the new Ihop. They have so many different restaurants in there, but few places to just grab breakfast or lunch without walking down to the other end, so this one on the end near the hotel is nice to find.

    6. We came home early enough. I was wiped out with all the walking and having fun with Harlan, so I actually got to bed at a decent time. After getting cussed out by the cat for being gone for a night.

    1. Bought one of my favorit candies today

    2. My son is here this weekend (well, expect for tonight - he's going to a slumber birthday party)

    3. Ice cream. I have cut back on ice cream in order to lose weight and be more healthy. So having ice cream with my son today was great

    1. I could feel a cold coming on but now I am feeling great. i have been drinking tea with fresh ginger for a few days. Something I've learned from my finance and that he made during the winter for me.

    2. Being able to keep in contact with aunts and cousins on social media.

    3. I ordered books for my study. I will be able to divide payment over some months. I was worried about finding all that money now but it is not a problem this way.
