    Yesterday's run

was the first time I have run with the running group in about 2 weeks. Getting over a minor injury and having other things going on got in the way over this time period.

And yesterday's run was great!! It felt good to be back with everyone. We had great weather, a great route and lots of conversation and camaraderie between everyone. My legs felt good too. No problems running the 5 miles.

It was great to be back, and hopefully I can continue running with the group.

    June 25th

36 minute-evening run, on the same road as last time but ran faster

I kept postponing running but this afternoon I told myself that if I didn't go now, I was likely to miss it again in the morning. So, I put down the book I was reading, got changed into running clothes, laced up and then left the house.

Told myself to start slowly and keep going. Surprisingly, it took less time than when I ran 5 days ago.

Back to running yesterday evening. It was a challenge-myself run. I convinced myself to run just 10 minutes; it was just for the start to lace up and get out of the house.

My trick to run long is to start off slowly. It's energy management. So I kept on running slowly but not too slow on the way back home, until I reached home drenched in sweats. The time was still the same as before and the pace was not too slow.

As I am doing yoga too, I will try to run at least 3 days a week, yoga is easier to do right now.

    June 3rd

32-35 minutes, back to running on the road after taking a break for nearly 2 weeks. The tight hamstring was completely gone but I was in love with doing hot yoga at home around lunch time so I still avoid going out for a run in the morning. However, I will try to run at least twice a week.

    Into a waiting time

The past few weeks I had been doing very well, lots of activities and having fun doing them. There are two trail races coming up and I have been looking forward to running in them. Last Friday I even made up a training schedule for the next two weeks. The next day, Saturday, was a group run. It is an easy run and I get to see my running friends.

Then, 2 miles in I felt a sharp pain in my left calf that shot all the up my leg. Rats!! I pulled the muscle. I was so pissed. It is not the pain. I can deal with that and it really is not painful. It is immediately I know I am done for the short term. It would be very difficult to run on it.

I can do a few things to help it along, but I know what it really needs is rest. At least I can bike on it, but for the next few days there is a lot of rain in the forecast (it is actually raining now as I write this) so I may not be doing a lot of that either.

Maybe making that training schedule was the wrong thing to do. I think I jinxed myself.

Saturday morning: Finally, I didn't miss my morning run. Left the house at 6:30 am. Biked to my parents' and left my bike there and started running from there. Ran on the road alone for 35 minutes and on the way back home, I saw my sister, niece and nephew; they were on the way for their morning exercise so I joined them. Walked and ran with them for another 30 minutes.

Same distance but ran better than yesterday. I almost skipped because I exercised a lot already yesterday but seeing that the fog was very thick and I love this kind of morning so I decided to get changed and left the house. After running, I rode my bike around the village for 30 minutes. Felt so great!

Back to running this morning after skipping it yesterday. I was feeling lazy at the first 10 minutes, nearly stopped running and walked but kept going slowly until I got home.. 35 mins, I guess..
