Sunday morning, I ran more than an hour, made it nearly 10k. I didn't plan to run that long, actually just 5k but on the way back home, I saw my sister just started her run, I joined her and ran with her for 5 more k. It felt so great and my confidence with a long run has come back.

I've been back to running 3 days in a row now. Just 8, 10 and 15 minutes each day. I don't want to do a long run yet as I don't have the time but still want to add running to my morning. After running, I lifted weight, did planks and a few poses of yoga.

Out yesterday morning for a short run. It was nearly 30 minutes. I didn't know the exact time as I didn't wear my watch. Not sure if I will go this morning.

Not running much lately if compared to before but still trying to do at least twice a week. I feel mostly tired and sore to the bones after the day ends from working in the garden and helping out my Dad around the house. So when waking up, what I want to do is just stretching to get the kink out of my body. After the sore is gone, I can do the chores around the house enthusiastically and lift the weight when I walk past the lifting set. I am still keeping fit but I don't run as much as before.

    Taper Run

I got out for a short 3 miles run today. Some pain in my hip and back starting out. Any normal person would stop and give up for the day. I just took a short walk break and then started back up running. After about 1.5 miles the pain was pretty much gone.

I'm not sure what is going on. My doctor suggested it is caused from tight hamstrings. I have been trying to stretch them out more.

I'm using my foam roller more too.

I think it is caused from sitting around too much. So I have been trying to do less sitting and more standing and walking.

This Saturday is the Mighty Niagara Half Marathon. A group of us are all running it as our destination race for the year. I hope this hip issue does not give me too much trouble.

@bob1623 when my back went out last year my physical therapist said "motion is lotion" he got me able to move again so I could walk again. I would rather have 10 more children naturally, without pain meds as I did with my other 3 than have that type of pain again. I am extremely pain tolerant but that brought me to sobs of pain. Now am pretty cautious as I regather my strength due to that. It totally went out when I was in the process of a sit-up as I pushed through the pain. Hence the reason for no sit-ups and crunches now!

Glad you saw the dr and you are probably right with the lack of motion contributing to what you are feeling. I feel like my total desk job was a contributor to mine as well.

I have been running on and off again but yesterday and today, I finally went out for a short run. It was short but the pace was a bit fast. Love it!

    30 minutes
This morning, I ran faster and longer and felt stronger.

After not running for a while, I was afraid that I would not be as fit as before but it turned out nothing has changed much. With more practice, I would be able to run as long as before.. I hope!
