    1. That the weekend is almost here. I am whooped from this week.

    2. Starting the Daniel Fast tomorrow and the reading so far has really touched my heart.

    3. that I maintained the house this week so I don’t have a full house clean up for the weekend.

    4. That I am meeting with a great group this weekend to pray with, socialize with, study with and then walk together with.

    5. That it has cooled off here some so I can turn off the ac and leave the doors and windows open in the mornings. I know it can make the ac work harder but i love hearing the outside noises and the bamboo wind chimes.

    6. That I feel motivated and ready to tackle my office. I even have ideas now on what to do with the furniture. This has been an issue for quite a time, wanting to change it but not know what I want. I think I finally have it figured out. It will be a much larger project due to it means painting everything in there. That may be a December, January focus. I need to take some vacation time so may take some time and just do a staycation. Haha I am rambling with thoughts in process today.

    I am greatful that on day 3 of availing the mystery of this site, i have selected 9 things to do every day for three months. I have achieved 7 , things to do consistently each day. This really needs gratitude.
    I am greatful i am getting my mo jo back
    I am very greatful for all the security of my home.
    I am great ful for the food i ate today.
    I am greatful to have electricity.

    Wednesday's five 10/18/17

    I'm grateful:

    -I went to my rheumatologist for my semi-annual check-up and all is A-OK.

    -the Hub & I caught up on some of our taped shows.

    -I talked to my son. His hand is doing better. He has feeling in all but the tip of his index finger and full feeling in his thumb again.

    -he can't work on his car because of the dominant hand problems. I sent some money so that he can replace his vehicle. I'm grateful that I have money to send and PayPal so that it is there immediately.

    -that I decided to invite my erstwhile best friend to dinner for Third Thursday. I texted her and she responded that she would like that. We haven't seen or spoken since her mother's funeral in March.

    -I baked ho-made bread for dinner tomorrow and then decided to invite another (long time, no see) friend and she was delighted at the invitation. She doesn't usually follow through due to health issues.

    -the Hub sliced the bread for me. I love my ho-made Honey Oat Wheat bread, but hate to slice it.

        @mp1966 You could probably make the bread in a machine if you adjusted the yeast. I'll tell you my recipe and method. I love hard-crusted European-style bread.

        Grandmonster's Honey Oat Wheat bread

        1/4 teaspoon of yeast
        3/4 cup of water
        3 tablespoons of honey
        1 cup of oats
        3 cups of whatever flour you like. My preference is half unbleached and half whole wheat
        1 1/2 teaspoons of salt.

        I stir all the ingredients in a large bowl, cover the bowl with a shower cap and put it in a draft-free place for at least 8 hours and if time is a concern I can wait to do the next step for as long as 18 hours.

        Next, I de-gas the bread sponge using a chopstick, add any additional flour (no more than 1/2 cup is needed) stirring (with the chopstick) to make a ball that is not sticky. I put the sponge in a nonstick frying pan, cover and let it rise again for 1 1/2 hours. For the last half hour of the second rising I allow the oven, with an iron-ceramic Dutch oven inside, to reach 450 degrees. At that point I put the sponge in the pot, cover it and bake for 30 minutes. Then, I remove the cover for the last 5 to 15 minutes. I do this for 5 minutes, but if I want a harder crust I leave it longer.

        I tip out the round bread onto a cotton cloth and wrap it for an hour to cool. Don't eat this bread hot or warm.

        It takes me no more than 5 minutes to put together the ingredients. I usually do that just before I go to bed and do the rest of the steps the next day when I'm home for 3 hours. It is a very forgiving recipe. I've let the bread rise for 8 hours or up to 22 hours and it always comes out tasty with good texture. I like to stir in the yeast with the water and honey and only add the salt as the last cup of flour is stirred in. The secret is in the long rising time and the tiny amount of yeast. The bread does not have to have honey or any type of sugar, it will rise fine without it. If I need iron, I'll use molasses instead of honey.

        I know this is a long answer to your request and I hope whatever method you use brings you a fine loaf of bread.

    -I went to Aldi for groceries

    -I skipped walking today.

    -I visited GO

    -I put all but one snap on Mrs. Claus costume

    -I started bean stew for Third Thursday meeting.

    Monday's five 10/16/17

    I'm grateful for this indoor kind of day:

    -for having insurance and being able to have preventative care for my eyes annually.

    -the eye dilation made me stay home because of the aura.

    -I read, crocheted watched TV.

    -I talked to Mum.

    -I fixed pancakes for supper.

    Sunday's five 10/15/17
    I'm grateful:

    -I got to get all my Sunday chores done

    -I started a very good book by an author I've met

    -I went shopping at Kroger. I had intended to go to Aldi but the power was out. I'll go later this week.

    -somehow, I made my goal steps today, when I didn't take a walk specifically

    -early to bed for eye appointment.

    Saturday's five 10/14/17

    I'm grateful:

    -I got up and ended up going to Coffee Talk with DB, BM, GO, PC and LC

    -I talked to KP beforehand and we agreed to meet after Coffee Talk

    -I called her and she came by to work on our cell phones. It took an hour (and 2.5 years) but we finally fixed it so her phone would accept my texts!
    -I walked with KP to her house and then realized I hadn't eaten, so she drove me home due me being dizzy.

    -I talked to Mum after I came home. My sister and b-I-l had been visiting. Good to know they all enjoyed the visit.

    Friday's five 10/13/17

    I'm grateful:

    -I didn't go to Mum's until 11:30, as she requested because we knew it would be a longer day if I went at the usual time.

    -I walked before I headed to Mum's.

    -that I'm gradually realizing that I easily forget to eat and that I need to stop that. That said I forgot to eat lunch at a reasonable time, once again (3rd time this week) and I didn't eat again until after 7 PM because I was in a 90 minute traffic jam.

    -Mum and I had a nice visit and then went once again to her hearing aid guy. She has a new pair. We will go back in a week for adjustments.

    -My youngest grandson was here when I got back home.

    Thursday's five 10/12/17

    I'm grateful:

    -I called the internet ink company and there were great people to help me with problems I was having with the printer not recognizing the cartridges. It was one magenta cartridge that was spewing the ink and causing my printer to prevent me from using any of the other cartridges. The 2 people I spoke with helped me through finding out what was causing the problem, how to fix it and what to do to get a new one.

    -I finally walked today after 4:30, in the mall. Yay. Me! 210 times this year. (No more "in a row").

    -I could pick up a book from the library for Gina. I'll see her at Coffee Talk on Saturday

    -with the ink in my printer, I proceeded to copy masses amounts of yarn craft patterns. As with cookbooks, I find that I might only want 6 or less patterns in each book. I have reams of patterns. Some of these books go back a hundred years, during WWI. I've copied any patterns I've wanted and I'm giving this first batch of books to Mum tomorrow. If she gives them back, I'll donate them.
    -I made shrimp for supper and baked a loaf of bread from my sister, who is coming down to visit Mum Saturday.
