Next week marks the end of winter and the start of spring! I love spring weather! Sunny and warm without being too hot, flowers everywhere, birds more active than ever, and the migratory shorebirds will soon be arriving in their tens of thousands! <3

It is still cold and has been raining quite a lot this week. Some places have had a bit of flooding, but nowhere near as bad as last year. There isn't any near my house, so I am lucky. All of this rain has filled the wetlands right up, I think the ducks and other waterbirds are loving it!

I am actually glad it's going to be raining tomorrow so that I can stay home all day and not feel guilty about it! WINTER APPRECIATION I am going to be productive at home though!

My favourite thing about winter? NO SUNBURN!!! I can walk outside for hours and don't feel (or look) like I've been slow-roasted when I get home. This is true appreciation right here. Something I am looking forward to in the coming months though is some warmer days and longer daylight hours so I can walk in the evenings.

We have had a few nice sunny winter days recently, but it hasn't been too hot. I have the next 2 days off, and shorter shifts this week so I'm hoping to get outside a bit more and enjoy the sun if it's out! If not, I will be inside, reading and watching Netflix!

I am having trouble appreciating winter right now. It is cold and rainy, and I have a cold 😞 however it is a good excuse to snuggle up in blankets and read books.

Well we're well into autumn now, and it's nearly winter! The weather has been pretty good lately, a bit colder, a few storms but nothing too crazy. Haven't had too much rain yet, so it hasn't interrupted anything I want to do! When it gets a bit wetter I guess I'll just be spending a bit more time inside doing some crafting, and I have my treadmill undercover outside, so I can still get some exercise!

Like most people, I'm always complaining about the weather - in summer it's too hot, in winter it's too rainy... I need to find ways to make the most of whatever season it is!

My main issue with summer is the heat, and sunburn. Of course this can happen at any time of the year, but it is most often in summer.
I can make the most of summer by:

    1. Dressing in cool, but covering clothing - especially loose fitting t-shirts that cover my chest and upper arms.

    2. Making sure I always have a hat with me, and wear sunscreen every day, especially on my face.

    3. Go swimming, in an indoor pool, or at the beach in the evening when the sun has gone down a bit.

In winter, the problem is the rain! I know the rain is important, especially in a country as dry as Australia, but I really dislike getting wet in the rain.
I can make the most of winter by:

    1. Checking weather forecasts and making outdoor plans for days when rain is most unlikely.

    2. Making sure I always have an umbrella with me.

    3. Always wearing closed shoes - I HATE my feet getting wet more than anything!

    4. Enjoying indoor activities - craft, puzzles, boardgames, etc., rather than just watching TV endlessly.

Spring and Autumn are generally good, apart from those days that have rainy or very hot weather, so I think the same guidelines apply - being careful in the sun and being prepared for the rain. Checking weather forecasts and making the most of nice weather.
