I am so unorganized & Sloppy. I believe every aspect of my life is in complete chaos because of this. I think I’ll start with my room :-)
Ah…being organized. I am amazed at how much easier life gets after we organize our cluttered lives. I was dying of boredom one day and decided that I’m going to organized my room and keep it that way. I cleaned out my entire closet and all of my drawers. My family and friends thought I was going crazy for doing this. It seemed like I was moving out of my room to live somewhere else. I took out old books, papers, random trash. I remember reading somewhere a long time ago about clutter: “if you doubt it once, chunk it.” So, I stuck to that rule and realized that it really does work. I’m so proud of myself that I have to leave my closet open and admire it for a few mins before I close it again. I show off my entire room to everyone who walks into it. And I’ve kept it that way for a while now too:)
Cher Cabula is starting anew.
I can’t do much when there is a lot of clutter around me. I am not a slob, I usually like to keep things neat but sometimes when things get really busy and hectic, I don’t have enough time to keep everything in it’s proper place.
First thing on my list will be my work desk at home, right now all my magazines are dumped on top of it, there’s a no-nonsense pile of file folders and books on one corner.
Second will be my wardrobe closet. It’s stuffed with clothes and some of those I haven’t worn in months. I think I have to find time to sort through them and just keep the stuff that I still use and donate the others to a charity.
Third will be the clutter in my mind. I have so many hangups from disappointments in the past. I can’t go on living a new life when I’m still looking back. I have to identify these “mind clutter” and get rid of them permanently!
knottylady is feelin pretty darn good.
Born under the sign of Aquarius, I am naturally and hopelessly unorganized. I can’t even keep track of movie tickets for five minutes.
This obviously has been an ongoing struggle of mine, but I’ve had a lifelong fortune of having organizing wonders around me (my mom and sister). I’m also lucky to have attracted super pro organizer like my fiance. As long as he’s in my life, I will be fine!
This doesn’t mean that I can’t make progress in other areas, however. While there’s a part of my brain that just malfunctions in the maintenance of organization, there’s still little things I can work on that’s fool-proof. Labeling vacation pictures, for instance. Sort my clothes by color and sleeve length. Group my shoes in color. Keep a grocery list. These are things I can manage but keeping the bills scanned and in order in the computer? I need more than luck for that big task.
For now, however, I tackle the labeling and sorting of our vacation pictures from 2006. It’s a bit of a daunting task being that we take a vacation about every 6 weeks or so, but I can’t say I couldn’t do it unless I try it first!
Good luck to moi.
This is not a specific and measurable goal, so I am removing it from my list.
I want to be more organized, but I understand that it takes actual measurable baby steps on a daily basis. So this is not out of my life, and I am not truly “giving up” I am just going to look for specific ways to implement this!
a) Import bookmarks from Safari Netscape Explorer into Firefox.
b) Organize files labels and tags.
c) Back up. Export to Safari Explorer Netscape etc…
d) Check the expiration date of the milk underneath my bed.
looking at the list above, none of it has been done. a few attempts at filing, more photos are posted on the web, some clothes have been donated, but that’s about it.
of course i’ve traveled over 50,000 miles for work in the last 5 months, so i haven’t been home much.
TheMasterplan is not sure what to write here
Worth doing!
i think i’ve reached an acceptable level of organization, now i need to focus on what to do with it, i still need to clean up my room and cross a few more things off my to-do list but all in all i feel much more accomplished. it’s been an interesting journey reaching this point, but it was a mean not a purpose, so it’s time to move on..
that being said, I’m still willing to help anyone struggling with getting organized, so if you ever needed some help just drop me a comment.
