Worth doing!
I didn’t do it all, but I did Santa Monica to San Francisco, stopping at Santa Barbara and Monterey Bay on the way.
It is sooooo beautiful and well worth doing. A highlight was driving along the Big Sur at dusk. Amazing.

Worth doing!
Well, this is happening in about 2 wks time. Well, part of it anyway. I’ve hired a super-duper sports car and I’m taking one full day and two half-days to drive from LA to San Francisco stopping off at Santa Barbara and Monterey on the way. I’m sooooooooo looking forward to it! I’m already putting some playlists together for my ipod to play in the car during the journey!

My wife and I recently lost our daughter and we are contemplating taking a quick PCH trip from S.D. or L.A. going north. We want to leave this Sunday (September 16th) and return Wednesday. Any suggestions? I’m wondering if I can make it up to S.F. or not in that amount of time.

Worth doing!
Ended up taking a weekend trip to L.A. on a whim and ended up driving about 60 miles North. Absolutely stunning. There was some traffic (on par with the rest of the city) which nearly created some wrecks as you are trying to take in the views…but c’est la vie. We ended up going past Pepperdine and taking Kanan-Dune road which takes you through the mountainside. This is equally as impressive, as you can climb from sea level to the heavens in a matter of minutes. Also, Mulholland Drive is a few miles South via interstate. MD abruptly turns into unpaved road and can be a great time if you have a rental car and some insurance…well worth the drive.
