teach english in japan

This is one of my more irrational goals. If I look inside myself, I know that nothing about teaching (in any country) comes naturally to me. But I’ve never wanted to work harder at anything in my life!

Even knowing that I’d be like a salmon swimming upstream, I just want to try! If I’m not cut out for it, so be it, but I won’t know until I fill out that application…

It’s a good thing for me I won’t have my BA for a few more years then, haha.

I might have to give this one up…

Breaks my heart.

I love Japan, and I love to teach. I figure this is probably my best option that includes both. ^-

Lived there with my parents and visit many times as my brother lives there. love to live there a gain for 1 or 2 years teaching there with my boyfriend.

I had an interview with the Japanese Embassy six weeks ago. I should hear back in the next few days, if I’ve earned a teaching placement.

At the end of next year I will have a BA in Japanese language and literature – er…what then? So I figure I should teach english in Japan for a year and then figure out where I’ll go from there. The hard part is my boyfriend will either come with me or break up with me – long distance relationship isn’t an option.

I guess we’ll see what I choose in the end, but I think if I don’t do it, I will always regret it.

After school, everyone should go and teach ESL overseas. Japan seems to be a great place to start. I found this guy having a blast teaching small children. Here’s the video to check out if you’re going to try to teach in Japan.

So much fun, awesome experience…I’ve been here 9 months now, and I am hoping to spend another year up in Tokyo!! Wahoo!

Teaching here is quite literally the best thing I’ve done in my life. Not everybody has a great experience (I’m thinking of all those working with NOVA, but maybe patience and a JET or Interac appl. wouldn’t have hurted. You can do it!) but my experience has been completely fantastic. Loving it.
