Work in a regional theatre

AliceY and I went up to Boston yesterday for an audition for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. We would be perfect in it together! We both got called back that same day to read sides together after our monologues. A says they’d probably prefer to give it to Boston-area actors. But I have to say, we didn’t see much competition that morning!

Did two open calls this week. One, again, for Our Town. They were also doing Lion in Winter. Another was doing The Glass Menagerie. Hello! I am Perfect!!! Ah…open calls! The world is cruel. My voice mail has no messages. I am waiting.

Did another audiiton this week. The auditor actually shook my hand! It was for “Our Town.” Somehow I’ve never seen a production of this play. Call me! Call me! Please!!!

Auditioned for another regional theatre today. They were really nice! But it was the artistic associate, not the director of the show, so I’m not sure if it means anything, but they DID look at my resume and seemed positive!

Tagging along to an audition upstate next Monday with my friend with the car! I’m excited about this! I hope it’s not too much effort for too little result! I’m even taking 1/2 day off of work! Oh well! You can’t get anything done sitting on your duff! (Or can you, with the Internet???!)

I need to go to more auditions!!! And be charming, charming, charming!
