Drive across the USA

Maine to California in five days. Worth doing, but if you don’t like sitting in a car for twelve hours a day, I’d suggest flying. If you’re like me, and can’t stand driving without your iPod or watching a movie, make sure your car adapter works!

I have driven across the USA in the the late 80’s, but I was a kid, sitting in the backseat of an unairconditioned station wagon, getting car sick and fighting with the my brother. I want to see all the things I missed.

go for it!  — 3 weeks ago

Worth doing!

Did this a bunch of times as a kid growing up in Ohio. Went across country to California three times, Florida several times, and Washington DC and Texas each once.
On my own I’ve gone to Myrtle Beach from Ohio. From NC to New Orleans three times, Myrtle a zillion times, and Florida three times. Main thing to remember is to be patient with others in the car with you. It can get a little hectic at times spending all that time together in a car. Just be patient, taking things as they come without worrying too much. Have fun and enjoy the ride! :-)

It was so fun! Our trip was kind of rushed and we only had less than a week to drive from NJ to CA, but we did it and also got to see a few cool things along the way (i.e., Cadillac Ranch, the oldest house in the USA etc..).
