having a baby really set me back in terms of learning more yoga poses. of course, you’re not supposed to think about yoga in those terms, but it’s a little hard not to. at least i’m back to practicing almost daily.

just move ahead to week 90 or 95 in the program (i forget). i’m still doing a modified version of the program by dividing the suggested poses into three different sets that i rotate, but i am doing all of them. or at least trying to. my peacock is kind of a joke.
i have been doing yoga pretty much daily, and recently skipped ahead from the end of section 1 in light on yoga to the end of section 2. this is challenging, but i’m already making progress. the bummer about this is that even if i master section 2, that is only supposed to be the first 72 weeks worth of practice. section 3 is the other 228 weeks.
but this portion is good for right now. i’ve divided it into three days of practice—one day is standing poses and sitting stretches, one is inversions and core strengthening poses, and one is arm balances and twists. i’m trying to do each of these sections twice per week, and i think the rotation is working out well…i basically stop being sore from each program by the next time i have to do it again.
i’m not strictly on the iyengar program yet, but i got back in the daily yoga routine while on vacation recently. it’s a start.
because i’ve fallen on and off of this program before, i’m now starting in week thirty. i’ll try to do sessions 1, 2 and 3 at least once each week until i feel comfortable enough with them to move on.
today i did session 1. it went ok, except that i wasn’t able to hold headstand or shoulderstand for ten minutes.
