    Crap.

    Oh noes 1 year ago

Eight days left? I barely have time to see my friends, let alone read. I am busy with a full-time job, rehearsals four times a week for a show, and rehearsals for a concert. I haven’t finished the China Meiville book yet. How on earth can I read the trilogy in eight days when I barely have time to sleep?
    Like I said, oh noes…
Film not being released in Australia until 26th December… maybe I can re-attempt this given an extension until then. This deadline was for the 7th December release, which Australia’s not getting…
    I’ll see how I go…

    Oh no 1 year ago

I have little over a month to do this.

Fortunately free time will be abundant after exams.

    OK. No need to panic.

Not lazy, just extremely busy. 1 year ago

Wow I really haven’t been trying very hard to complete this goal. I still have about 100 days and way too much other work to do. We’ll see how I cope next week. But I’ve lent the first book to a friend because I wasn’t reading it. Maybe she’ll get through the trilogy faster than me! It will get me moving, I’m sure, when she wants to talk about it and I have to refresh my mind.

(laughs evilly) I found a way 1 year ago

I’m listening to the audio books when I got to bed at night. I read a different book (currenlty going through a David Gemmell phase) until I’m too tired to read, then I put on my headphones and listen to the Northern Lights (I quite enjoy the actress who reads Lyra, though I wish Pan’s voice wasn’t so annoying). It’s an easy way to get around reading the books when you have no time.

Doing it again 1 year ago

I have already read His Dark Materials, but I really, really want to do it again before The Golden Compass is released in cinemas.
My daemon, according to the movie website, is a tiger called Adan.
I was thoroughly impressed with him.

I am waiting until my exams are over before I get stuck into this trilogy again, but I have personally challenged myself to do it before the film is released.
Who knows? I may even find yet another layer in this incredibly complex, deep, fascinating, wonderful, agnostic best-selling trilogy.
