I love languages! 1 day ago

I really want to learn French because it is such a beautiful language, and also because I hope to go to France someday… maybe for a year in college, if I’m lucky. My friend who is taking a beginning French class is helping me, and I am also using RosettaStone, and using a workbook I bought. My vocabulary is getting better…. but my pronunciation is horrible!

Living in Belgium and being an English speaker is a difficult job. I’m trying to learn the language.

If you wish to learn French, or any other major language, see the site: www.livemocha.com

It’s a great place to work on pronunciation, writing, speaking, and learning new vocabulary. I’ve met people from all over the world and helped them learn English while I’m learning from them! It’s so cool. Try it.

French is a great language :) I just returned from vacations in Europe and went to France and switzerland and knowing french there is loads of fun! Even if my french canadian accent was funny to most people. Au revoir!

Hmm. 6 months ago

Well, I’ve been doing it for three years at school and have opted to continue it for my GCSE for the next two years. Then I’ll probably do an A Level in it. Hopefully at some point I will get to go there to practice a little and pick up some more things, but until then, I’m going to stick with school.

I minored in French for my undergrad. Can I speak it? No way! I don’t know how I got by in those courses. I’ve even been to France twice. Everytime I would ask a Parisienne a thoughtful question, she would look at me and reply in English! I guess that’s just to save me the embarrassment of attempting French again. Since I want to move abroad, I would like to be able to speak French fluently. I also want my daughter to learn another language early so she doesn’t have the same difficulties I do.
