re-learn french

I took it for two years in high school about four years ago.

Class finished Thursday—good, but too much too quickly. With everything going on, I wasn’t getting enough sleep and certainly not enough study time. No wonder it took me 20 years to get my AA degree. I think I’ll look to take another course sometime after Christmas…

Tonight gypsiewriter and I went to see “Summer Hours” with Juliette Binoche and I was pleased at how much I could understand without looking at the subtitles. We plan to go see “Paris” next month, plus I’ve got two more flicks on order so hopefully I’ll keep increasing my level of comprehension.

I finally decided to actually DO one of the things on my list (instead of just writing about wanting to do them) and enrolled in a summer French course at the Alliance Française de Glasgow. The class is 6 sessions, 3 hours each session, and I’ve attended two so far.

It feels nice to be in a classroom setting again, I’m doing way better than I expected, and at least my tongue is getting some kind of Frenching, albeit not exactly the one I had in mind…

taking a French course at my college next semester!

i am from Haiti and my 2 official languages are french and creole but when i came to the USA i had to learn englkis so now i forget my french. I can read it very well even understamd it …i just need to speak it like i used too

But hey, it works enough to communicate on most levels.
I would love to gain some arguing fluency, but come to think about it, cursing at rude people in Italian has its advantages :)

I learned French my Sophomore year in high school. Which was 2003-2004. I can’t remember anything besides the basics. =(

well i got the books on tape
and they are on my computer
but i cant seem to find a good time to listen to it

When I move to Paris it would be nice if I could speak the language.
