revamp my wardrobe

As soon as I get my first paycheck I’m buying a dress and sneakers…random I know.

Pants (2 pr)
1 bra
4 shirts
a belt
socks
2 scarves
a skirt or dress
2 prs shoes (1 pr for work, 1 pr street shoes)

I’ve started doing this a thousand times and never actually finished it! I think it’s essential for every woman to feel comfortable in their clothes, and frankly, right now I don’t. I only have a handful of outfits that I really feel like myself in, so hopefully I can change this.

Just bought two more nice shirts! :)

My problem is my clothes just make me look… young. I’m almost 20, but most people think I’m closer to 15. I don’t dress like I’m 12 or anything, but I have a very young face. I think if I were to dress more mature it’ll make me look older. :) I’m having a very hard time finding good jeans that aren’t extremely expensive though.

The other day I bought two camisoles, so I’m off to a good start at revamping. I also bought a pair of pinstripe dress pants. :)

No, really! I’ve got the bag of old clothes in the car and as soon as the goodwill opens this morning, I am off to hand it over and be done with them (and my slobby/shabby way of dressing) for good.

last purchases were:

- purple lux tunic shirt/dress with a flower print
- navy blue lux tunic dress
- black/white horse print truly, madly, deeply tee
- 3-tiered pastel prairie lux dress
- lux tunic dark grey, sleeveless
- sparkle & fade long tank dress
- ocean blue lux babydoll shirt
- western style light blue lux button down shirt dress
- 5 undergarments
- 1 backless bra (curious to see if it works!)

yay! and probably only spent about $100.

I want my clothes to reflect my personality. A person should peek into my closet and think, “Oh, this girl, she must be a dreamer, with grand shining ideals, and she must belong to a circle of poets and bohemians.” I should like my clothes to be romantic and pretty, natural-looking, and simple enough for school and other ordinary activities. I even want beautiful pajamas (silk slips, maybe) and undergarments! I don’t think this is being materialistic, everyone wants to feel beautiful and confidant.

So, that garbage bag of give-away clothes is still in my closet. And I’ve still got to finish going through what’s in all my dresser & underbed drawers.

I did spend about $100 on some new underthings & a bathing suit a little earlier today, but I really need to just bite the bullet and get rid of everything that doesn’t fit right this second.
