    Worth doing!

I know, I know… pop psychology. But it’s true for me, at least. I found what I love to do and just looking for ways to get involved in small ways, has been immensely rewarding and meaningful. It’s not about being great, or making some huge mark. If you just follow what you love in small ways, then all those small things converge to make a life happen. Connecting with the right people and living in the right place has been key for me.

What does success really mean for you?  — 2 years ago

Success is to laugh often and much

To win the respect of people and the affection of children

To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends

    To appreciate beauty

To find the best in others

To leave the world a better place

To know everyone you loved has breathed easier because you have lived

    This is to have succeeded

“We’re ultimately at home in the world, not through dominating or explaining or appreciating, but through caring and being cared for” Milton Mayeroff

Somewhere along the way, modern mind has ambushed and degraded the notion of care..the sad truth.

I am still learning(not searching)...and learning everyday about the basic notions and meaning of life. I would think that the first and faremost important lesson in life is a daily dose of Wisdom & Compassion =)

It seems that the theme is "how to be of service to others"  — 2 years ago

It’s very easy to get caught up in the day to day maintenance of life. A few months ago, a Tibetan monk came to Kona and spoke at a Peace Center near us. One observation he made about the difference btwn Westerners and Tibetans was that he noticed what the older people were doing, or not doing. He said that in Tibet, as people got older, they devoted more of their lives to spiritual pursuits and the development of their spiritual side. While in America, he noticed that the older people just kept focused on the physical world and little time is devoted to a spiritual practice. I remembered that and it was refreshing to get that perspective from someone outside our culture.

As the existentialist would say,  — 2 years ago

life has whatever meaning you put into it. I am having a life of relaxation this time around. Taking it easy with some minor stuff to try out, perhaps something big like creating a healing center here in Hawaii. Or perhaps work over the internet to see what I can do to help heal some of the energetic imbalances in the world.

Yeah, the meaning of life  — 2 years ago

can be so subjective. What I have come up with is to be kind to my fellow human beings and try to live and be an example of the changes I wish to see happen in the world. What do others think, feel or wish about this topic?
