I get a call from my high school coach inviting me to run a time trial with the kids. I said yes. I haven’t been doing much training because of work and school but figured 3.1 miles shouldn’t be that bad and it would be fun. I get there and find out we are actually doing 8 miles, yikes! He says I can ride my bike but I’ve never been one to skip workouts unless I’m hurt.
So we get on the road and I’m running 6 minute pace which is good considering the limited training and having been sick for the past week. Anyways, this is not a comeback story, I died little by little but managed a 55:49, about 6:58 miles. Way off my personal best of 46 min but I was expecting worse.
Now I’m psyched about training and coming back maybe I’ll do some indoor races. My load of school and work is not too bad this fall so my goal is to train at least 5X a week. Gotta get myself a good training book and start building my work outs.

I say f* work and f* school if it don’t give me anytime to do any serious training. Enough time for half hour runs is not enough for a distance runner. I need a buddy who will run with me late at night or the marathon this year will be very slow or I won’t finish cause i won’t cross that finish line if my time is slower than 2:52. Anyone from Staten Island, NY just though I’d ask.

haven’t really gone to any clubs or practiced much lately. My friends don’t do clubs. And the girl I was seeing before was more hesitant about dancing than me. I need new friends if this is to progress.

So my mom said I can’t become society’s problem, lol.
So to postpone the decision of what to do when I grow up I’m going to school for a second degree in Mechanical Engineering.

About a month ago i was talking to my friend who plays guitar and he said he would teach me and he even gave me a guitar. In return I would listen to him play and give him some constructive criticism. So I practice when I get a chance, though since its summer I’m usually at the park playing soccer.

Since school ended I have taken a small break off running so my legs can heal from little things that were bothering me. I’ll be working at a running camp in two weeks and I’ll use that to go back into faster longer training. Since I have postponed running a marathon till next year. I will focus on improving my mile time to around 4:20 this winter.
happpy running all

Today was bit chilly. I ran the 1500m and the 5000m. First was the 1500 and it was bad, it put my confidence way down. The 5k was couple of hours later I ran it with no expectations and felt good and so pushed harder and ran personal best. Good day. happy running all

It’s hard to remember, it’s hard to remember
We’re alive for the first time
It’s hard to remember were alive for the last time
It’s hard to remember, it’s hard to remember
To live before you die
It’s hard to remember, it’s hard to remember
That our lives are such a short time
It’s hard to remember, it’s hard to remember
When it takes such a long time
It’s hard to remember, it’s hard to remember…

my knee hurts aaarrghhh!!
this is so annoying, especially because we practice in the worst indoor track in Brooklyn. When will it be warm again I want to run outside. Running injured is the only time when I hate running.
Now that I’m done complaining.
I ran conference champs 2 weeks ago and I did pretty good. Not my best time but I ran a competitive race which is what I like about running.

I will graduate with a Math B.S. in may, but i will go to city college to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering first, and then grad school in mechanical , so this will have to wait two more years. I decided that engineering is better for what i like to do building stuff (i loved my legos). Pure math though interesting was getting too complicated and would have led me to an early death due to stress (i really don’t like sitting by desk and looking at proofs more than 2hrs) lol.
