We got a scanner at my grandmother’s house, so I don’t have to cart pictures back and forth now! I’m currently scanning everything I can get my hands on while I’m here for the holidays—everything from old wedding photos to the brand new pictures of my cousin’s daughter, Aubrey.

I was really proud of myself tonight. When filling my plate for dinner, I was very careful to keep to my nutritionist’s guidelines: Half a plate of vegetables, a quarter of protein, and a quarter of starch. I ate slowly and was full from only one serving.
This is really good, because if I can stick to the plan in my grandmother’s house, I can stick to it anywhere!

A soft, fresh and floral subtle fragrance with cherry, freesia and blackcurrant top notes.
At second sniff, I really didn’t like the Fresh Mangostein, but fortunately for me, this was sitting right next to it.
Unfortunately for me, they were all sold out, but I hope to get myself a bottle before the new year.

I’ve had this new computer for about a year, and I still haven’t transferred the documents I need from my PC to my Mac.
I received a warning message today that my hard drive is too full. I probably need an external drive for my photography, but I just bought an external drive for backup, so that will have to wait. In the mean time, I’m going to burn the less important photos to DVD. (I’m making two copies, of course, to be safe.)
The nice thing about Mac software is that it keeps things pretty organized. I’d be one big mess without iPhoto and iTunes.

I purchased this at the Mac store while having my computer worked on so I could back-up my data.
I just set it up to run with Time Machine, so now my Mac will back itself up automatically. I don’t have to do anything!
Also, as the “Genius” at the Mac store pointed out, it kind of looks like a flask, which I find amusing. I also love the color. It’s something I won’t mind having on my desk.

I considered adding be the best damn girlfriend I can be to my list, but, sadly for my boyfriend, I’m not an overachiever like my best friend. So here we go. Be a good girlfriend.
My boyfriend has never dated anyone before, and sometimes he inadvertently makes this painfully clear. He doesn’t help me with my luggage at the airport, he admits to giving me compliments just because we’re dating… He doesn’t know what he’s doing.
I’m trying to determine the best way to tell him how to be a good boyfriend. I think it will help not only me, but other girls he dates after me.
Any advice?

I found really great software for Macs for keeping track of recipes that I like.
It’s called Measuring Cup and best of all, it’s Freeware!
I plan on donating some money to them as soon as possible though, as it’s so helpful.

So heartbreakingly good in All The Real Girls; loved the little drawl in Elizabethtown; cute in Lars and the Real Girl.
Yet another indie actor I can’t resist.

Although these are from my ex-boyfriend, I have an affinity for bird jewelry, and I truly love them.

My best friend got me this for Christmas. I’ve wanted it for awhile—which is funny, because she didn’t know this when she bought it.
I’ve been acquiring more jewelry lately, and this particular piece inspired me to add this goal to my list. I’m going to make an entry for everything I have to take care of, in hopes that it will inspire me to do so.

I thought he was really cute when I used to watch MTV, which was so brief and so long ago that I barely remember it.
Caught him on a commercial for IFC last night and it all came back to me in a rush. The glasses, the hair. He’s half German, half Israeli. So indie! And dreamy.

I’ve learned all of America except for the darn northeast. They’re so little and close together up there!
I’ve started on the state capitals quiz with the hope that knowing the cities will help me remember the states I’m struggling with.

Ingrid Michaelson, Die Alone, Girls and Boys
While in Italy, I took a trip to Verona, setting of Romeo and Juliet, with a friend who a lot of people were convinced was perfect for me. On our trip, we both rubbed a statue of Juliet, which is supposed to guarantee you a new lover.
On the train ride back, he put his headphones on my ears and started playing me songs from his iPod. This was the last song he played for me, and it started as we were approaching our stop. I listened to the lyrics and started to get the feeling that he might be interested in me.
I never thought I could love anyone but myself
Now I know I can’t love anyone but you
You make me think that maybe I won’t die alone
Maybe I won’t die alone
We got together within a week.

Oasis, Wonderwall, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?
I didn’t really listen to my iPod in Italy because I had a hard time keeping it charged, but I did have a friend who played the guitar and liked people to sing along, and this was one of the few songs that all of us knew.
Today is gonna be the day
That they’re gonna throw it back to you
By now you should’ve somehow
Realized what you gotta do
I don’t believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now
It’s kind of a melancholy song, but I have good memories of it. We sang it during our first grape pressing at the end of our first harvest day. We sang it at our chestnut roasting. We sang it at our Halloween party. The song was there for all the important moments of my trip, and it’s taken on a meaning separate from its lyrics because of it.

Turns out I only gained 5 to 7 pounds on my three month study abroad trip.
I’m currently 145.8 pounds, which is 8 pounds more than I weighed in January, when I started my weight loss program.
I’ve lost some ground, but I don’t feel like it’s anything I can’t overcome.

I’ve waited a year. I now have enough credits to enter, and I’m glad I waited, because I have a lot more work that I’m proud of.
I’ve decided to submit a combination of poetry, short fiction, and a short story. The deadline is January 13th.
