My sweetie got me Pimsleur Instant Conversation Brazilian Portuguese and the Langenscheidt Portuguese/English dictionary for Christmas, so it’s time to kickstart getting back up to speed with this.

The paperwork warning you to line up your equipment before your first class starts has arrived, and thus my re-registration for ski lessons at Snoqualmie is official. Here’s hoping we continue to get snow, so that things can go somewhat better than last year.
Kevin Kelly, in his blog, gives thirty questions about where you live based on an original list by Peter Warshall back in the 70s. Examples include: “1) Point north”, “10) Name five native edible plants in your neighborhood and the season(s) they are available”, “17) Right here, how deep do you have to drill before you reach water?”, and “25) Name three wild species that were not found here 500 years ago. Name one exotic species that has appeared in the last 5 years.” There are way too many of them that I don’t know the answers to for my taste – which is, at the end of it, the point of the exercise.
