Some days ago I found a very nice course for beginners of the Japanese language (Kana and some common words and sentences). It’s called Nihongo o Manabou and consists of 17 lessons with several sub-lessons. The language is taught by small flash animations with the help of seeing and listening.

and therefore I’m finally able to move on learning new Kanjis! :)
Jim Breen’s Japanese Page
is a huge resource for everybody who wants to know more about Japan and the Japanese language!
Ahuu.. Where can I get more time??
Reviewing the Kanji is an online community I found just some minutes ago, based on Heisigs “Remembering the Kanji”. It’s nice, they offer flash-cards and a training system for the Kanjis (the one with the 5 boxes system, great!!). Of course it’s better do create own cards (because of the learning effect) but anyhow it’s a nice thing!
Started today and made the first 34 index cards for the Kanjis following the instructions in Heisig’s ‘Remembering the Kanjis’
It’s fun and I am happy being able to remember some of them already :)
By the way, I found a nice index of all the ‘Heisig Kanjis’ on ziggr.com I’m really a huge fan of Heisig’s method to learn Kana and Kanji! :)
Oh, what a nice surprise. I got the next two books of the series I used to learn the Kana and was able to do the first 4 lessons during winter holidays :). It’s so much fun.
And during my stay in Switzerland, I was able to practice reading the Kana ;). A lot of the shops in the town we were had Japanese letters on their signs :))
to learn new things, but at last I’m trying not to forget the Kana. So far I’m doing fine. Only the SA (サ) in Katakana takes some time to come out of my mind ;)
わたしはスミです。
Just tried to write some Kana with my German keyboard (and Japanese keyboard layout) :) and it worked. Wow, I didn’t thought it’s so easy to write the Kana with Windows.
Anyhow, does anybody know, how I get the vowel extension bar? ”-” Or do I have to switch back to German or English keyboard layout in order to write it down?
:) Yay! They’re done. I’ve learned all Hiragana and Katakana, so the first stage is cleared! :))) Next step: Some Kanji and first grammar …
The question: Do I start with a PONS course or Japanese in MangaLand? Or both?
providing the same help on learning the Kana as the previously mentioned. This time it’s the Yoshida Institute
They additional offer 4 levels of Kanji to learn!
