Well, I missed my deadline.  — 3 years ago
Because of my fear, and my vacation. But all is not lost. There are two more nights of audition in august. I need to take the following steps:
  • make the appointment
  • buy a Tenor solo Karaoke tape at Schlattinger’s music store(that’s one thing I didn’t know existed)
  • take some voice lessons between now and then
I’m going to put this goal at the bottom of my priority list, for now, since there’s more time.
To help eliminate the fear. . .  — 3 years ago

I thought I’d get more familiar with the “Horrible Giant” (the process of auditioning). I have spoken with two acquaintances who have sung with the Chorus. My big fear is the requirement to sing from memory a classical piece. My friend Duanne said that there was a music store where I could buy Tenor solos. They come with an accompaniment CD. Classical Kareoke!! So, I’ll go to Shattinger’s tomorrow!

I must be scared of failure. . .  — 3 years ago

Otherwise, It’s inexplicable that I haven’t printed, completed, and submitted the forms. Why am I putting this possiblity off?

Steps I need to take from here to sing the Messiah  — 3 years ago
  1. print out the forms I received by Email 4/7/05
  2. send or take in the forms 4/9/04
  3. schedule the audition 4/9/04
  4. prepare a vocal work from memory for the audition
  5. If I don’t make the cut, try to get feedback about what I need to improve
  6. re-evaluate whether or not the time, effort, and cost for vocal lessons is worth the goal of singing with the Symphony orchestra.
O.K. so one week has gone by and no reply. . .  — 3 years ago
I have two choices:
  1. give up or
  2. keep after it, even though I may be rejected by the chorus.

I decided to call the Symphony Chorus Manager. I got voice-mail. I left all the pertinent information requested. Auditions start tomorrow. I offered to come by and pick the materials up, if necessary.

OK, I've started the process  — 3 years ago

STEP # ONE
I’ve written a letter to the symphony chorus manager asking for an audition and for audition materials. Just to help me find it FAST, Here’s the link to the Chorus website.
