I think I’m procrastinating less.
Well, at the moment, I don’t have anything that needs to be done, so there’s nothing to put off!
But really, I think I did a lot better this past school year. I just need to keep busy. I’ve found that if I have to be somewhere at a certain time, I’ll get things done. Like, if I know I have practice at 6pm, and I have to do my math homework and work on a sewing project, that all will get done before I go to practice, knowing that I won’t want to do it/won’t have time for it when I get home. But if I have a whole weekend and one little thing to do, I figure, eh, I still have hours and hours to do that.
So this is staying on my list for now, because I start college soon. That means less time in class and more to do out of class on my own initiative. So we’ll see how this goes in the fall.

So, this Saturday there’s a colorguard show at my school that the guard I’m in is hosting. Long story short, I decided to put an ad in the program for my etsy shop. Eep! That means someone might actually see it! Which means that I should put some nicer stuff in it. So before Saturday I’d like to make at least two purses and take nice pictures and list them. No procrastinating!

My daily to-do list goal has helped with this a bit, I think. I also keep weekly to-do lists in my planner and monthly to-do lists on my calendar. Maybe I should spend a little less time organize and more time doing =P

So, as I was making entries about my progress on other goals, I realized that I’m not making very much progress on this one – considering I’m spending a lot of time here on 43T instead of doing some of the things I’m supposed to be doing right now.

I’ve noticed, I really do get more done when I have more to do.
Like, on days I have practice, I work on my dress and do my homework after school, and then go to practice.
When I don’t have practice, I end up doing nothing the whole afternoon.
So really, it’s that I need something that has a set time – like, I have to be at practice by 6, so I have to finish my other stuff before them.

43T, you kill me.
I spend entirely too much time on this site when I should be doing other things.

Ah, this is just getting more and more important.
Before school starts (September 6) I need to finish my summer reading (1 & 2/3 books left), do my calc assignment, and finish my homecoming dress. It’d also be helpful if I cleaned up my room a bit so I’m not always losing things… and also do the first drafts of college essays…eep! That’s definately a major thing, I CANNOT procrastinate on my applications or I’ll end up with no place to go come next fall.
Well, I have started on some of the applications, and I did sign up for the SAT II’s already… So that’s some progress.
I think i should start making lists again. I don’t know that it will actually help… but I like lists.

So the funny thing about this is that two entries ago, I said I had a paper due on a Tuesday and I should do an outline for it… and I did it on that Sunday. And then the last entry, I said I should look up dates for a timeline and then I actually did start to work on it… so maybe just vocalizing that I have something I need to do makes me do it? Hmm…

If I weren’t a procrastinator, I would go look up the dates of events I have to put on a timeline that’s due Friday.

If I weren’t a procrastinator… I wouldn’t be here.

I have a (literary analysis) paper due Tuesday, so I’m hoping I can do an outline for it tomorrow rather than throwing it together Monday night (I already have a few notes for it that I made last week, at least). Papers are my largest problem with procrastination, because I hate them and I’m not very good at writing them and then I get into a fatalistic mood because I figure I’ll just get another 70 on it anyway, so why even bother? But I worked on the last one over a few days and I got an 85 (the previous three I got a 75, 75, and 65 on)... but that might also have been due to the fact that I was writing about a poem rather than a novel.
Well, we’ll see.

In other news, I did better with my art assignments, we have two sketches due every week (in addition to projects and such, but I always get those done in time), and for the 2nd marking period I had to do like 8 in one night, but this time I only had four due the last day, which made me only one week behind at that point :)

This also ties into my making-my-prom-dress goal, because if I keep putting off working on it, it’ll end up like in a dream I had last week – pieces missing, most of it only pinned together, with pattern pieces still pinned to the fabric… And I’ll feel really stupid because I told a lot of people I’m making my dress so it has to be finished and look good.
