watch the IMDB.com Top 250 movies

I mean, I write an entry yesterday about getting organized for this goal, and voila! someone recommends listofbests.com to help me track it. Actually, there were a couple of suggested sites, but this is the one I ended up using. I have to say, though, two drawbacks: 1. it doesn’t give any other options than worth consuming or not (I want a “How in the world did this ahemBoratahem make it to the top 250 movies? button) 2. It doesn’t allow me the option of having seen the film, but having seen it so long ago that I need to see it again. For this purpose, I’m still going to use my old, outdated, word file of top 250 movies for this original goal, and once that’s completed, I’ll move onto the newer list. Hey, movie watching and learning is a never-ending process, am I right or am I right?

So in reading other people’s entries I’ve just realized that (duh!) the list constantly changes. Well, screw that. I’m sticking with what I’ve got so far (and I seriously doubt that the films that I haven’t seen, which are mostly much older, are dropping off). I’ve watched the last ten or so films on the list and I’m pretty good with new movies so I’m not that worried about not actually making the goal in that respect. Should I actually make it through the list I have now, then I’ll update it for next year and make the 15 (probably) films that aren’t on my list my goal for next year! w00t!

So I put this goal down and then did nothing, except generally watch films. But I think I can still achieve it by the end of the year. I watch a lot of damn movies. So today I went through and stole the list off another 43things user, bolded out the ones I’ve seen, and threw the first 20 that I haven’t seen at the top of my netflix queue. As soon as I get a bit more room on there I’ll throw up the rest. Most are actually already on my list, just way down. Anyway, here’s the list of 250 and what I’ve seen. The ones in italics I don’t remember well enough to really count, but I’m going to count them anyway, because….desperate times….ect….

Have seen: 147
To see again: 12
To see for the first time: 103

Oh, that sucks. Just realized that my bolded won’t transfer to here. Oh well, I have the list on my own. And I’m going to get through it dammit!

Wow….I really haven’t seen that many of these. I totally overestimated how many I’d seen, but oh well, I can still try..
