Get new glasses

Took a trip to my eye doctor while I was in New Jersey. I STILL can’t believe no one takes military insurance. I’m going to Fort Dix soonly to get a pair of free, ugly glasses.

I actually worked up the courage to go out and get a new pair of glasses. I’ve been wearing contacts since I was ten years old, because I suffered really badly when I was a child as a result of my VERY poor vision. I had big coke-bottle lenses and the kids found it hysterical.
Well, I’m all grown up now, and I’m with people whom I trust enough to not make me cry just because I have huge satellite dish eyes when I wear glasses. I’m still a little scared, I’ll admit, but mostly because I’m afraid that I won’t accept myself.
We actually went out yesterday looking for a pair of glasses. We went to Pearle Vision, Wal-mart, a place called For Eyes and a place called Springfield Optician. NONE of these places took military insurance. In fact, no place in the Philly area does. The closest place is the one I was going to when I lived with my mom, back near Atlantic City. I’ll be going there sometime soon, because I know they accept my insurance w/o a copay.
But I am working on getting glasses, at least.
