system failure 2 weeks ago

ok, so a few months of frenzy with a new more loaded routine for JD, a couple weeks on the campaign trail (Gary, INdyana, Gary INDIanny, Gary Hell Hole shit hole dump waste cess pool…) and my systems are totally shot to Gary IndeeANnEYY.

Must regroup! and must do it before the next storm hits!

Emergent What?? 5 months ago

OK, here’s my new tool of choice, even though I’m really not using it for its intended purpose. Form by David Seah. A kindred spirit… anyway, yesterday – avoiding work, expertly – I tried to organize my life yet again. I’ve been using this form for work the past month or two and found it helpful. I tried using it as a to-do list but quickly realized I have to go down another level for that to be useful. I printed off a bunch of these and am now using these as cover sheets for stacks of projects…

The categories are similar to the ones I had on my ‘master list’ from a few years back:
1) House – exterior
2) House – interior
3) House – yard and garden
4) JD – Health
5) JD – School
6) Sara – Work-work (main, paid job)
7) Sara – Other work (other paying gigs)
8) Sara – Volunteer work
9) Sara – 40th bday party
10) Sara – Personal/hobby – this is the category that’s not really going to work I think
11) Sara – Health
12) Family – Vacation / Things to do this summer

That’s it for now. JW’s on his own. I am writing stuff down on these as I go through piles and then if there’s any paper back up to the individual goals, I attach them underneath with a binder clip. I need to have a storage solution though for these so at least the cover sheet is always visible. This is a big issue for me. (out of sight/out of mind…)

So, there would be several levels to this. There could potentially be a master list though there isn’t one now.
Then this level (described above) would be level 1. Most of the individual items on these lists would be a project in itself and could have its own sheet or at least a ‘task order up’... and that would be levels 2 & 3.

Example: “JD Health” includes tasks related to making appts with various specialists – e.g., ophthalmologist, dermatologist, cardiologist, etc. and then each one of those requires several tasks and in some cases, those tasks already have their own file. Another example would be “house – exterior” – within that one of the projects is “overhangs” – within that, there would be: – find photos of houses we like, – get quotes, – select contractor, – schedule work, etc. I guess these shouldn’t go any deeper but some will. Technically, a task is not supposed to be longer than 4 hours. If it takes more than four hours of your time you have to break it down further…

ARGH – it sucks to have a brain that requires all this hoop-jumping just to stay afloat.

Need to x-ref this with numerous items on this list and also reference my 43T list on these to-do lists.

Mrs. Clean Jeans 7 months ago

Clean Jeans
Clean Underwear
Clean Socks
No Clean Shirtzzzz

JD almost killed himself today trying to get from the door in my room to where I was standing (about 4 feet away). It’s dangerous in there right now!

Have lost a lot of ground on this topic 8 months ago

Gotta retrace my steps!

Put up a few fall decorations... 1 year ago

Made good progress is relatively little time. However, I have not worn underwear for the past three days. What is my furcking problem?

Packed up Easter Decorations today. 1 year ago

Wow. This is record lateness!

Cat-feeding... 1 year ago

Had to start kitty on new food and had to phase it in so instead of leaving it to chance or getting sloppy with it, decided to baggy up a few weeks worth. (e.g. date/am or pm is on the bag with the measured food in it)

SO: this has solved another problem – that of: “did you feed the cat?” “yes!” “Oh, I just fed him again.” which is why he weighs 20 lbs. So we’re not double feeding him (well, we still managed to once) and not under feeding him, and he’s getting phased into the new, expensive cat food. (YAY) blah blah blah

update 1 year ago

Have been keeping all clothes in closet or on bed at far end near closet – no where else (except laundry area – yikes! still need to do a lot of work in that dept.) Have also been better about keeping laundry basket avail. and dirty clothes almost always find their way into it now – so that’s a big improvement. Still need to add a chair to the closet and keep on top of clearing out of season stuff out of there since I’m working with such limited space.

Now the only problem is the massive amts. of paperwork and craft materials cluttering the room. Oh well – refer to “declutter my house.”

But – I’ve done good so far with the whole clothing thing. re: laundry – I’ve thought a few times that I need to designate a laundry day…

Laundry and Keeping the Fridge cleaned out. 1 year ago

I have a drawer-full of clean socks and skivvies and so does jibby. And (sniff sniff) it feels great!

I have made a semi-conscious effort to continuously remove less-than-fresh stuff from the fridge the last few weeks. I’m still stuffing so I could work on that, but the more I cook, the more I “interface” with the fridge, the easier it is to keep on top of the dreck & also NOT WASTE so much which is brilliant. Thought about having a clipboard entitled WASTED FOOD over the garbage can and every time I have to dump a $5 container of earthbound farms mixed herb salad because it’s gone bad, I will notate it. God, if only I could find a job where I could dream up processes and procedures all day long and not have to maintain any of them!!!!

Laundry update 1 year ago

Well, have been trying to keep on top of this (trying not to spill my guts here about JUST HOW BAD this has gotten)... but I did really work on this this week so that’s good.

OK> I said something positive about myself. yay.
