Living Will / Advanced Health Care Directive 1 year ago

Perhaps even more important than who to leave the heirloom dishes to, is what to let your loved ones know you want, in case you’re unable to say it at the time.
This winter my Mother had shingles; and it knocked her out for a while. She did name two of us kids as Medical Power of Attorney, which suddenly opened the floodgates on her health care providers finally being able to talk with us (legally) about what was going on with her, and let us be much more able to be present and part of her health care plan. Fortunately she’s growing better every day, but we still don’t have the Real clues as to what she does and doesn’t want.

Without a health care directive / living will saying No, health care workers are legally bound to try all measures to keep a person alive. Me, please DNR.

You can download the state by state forms; some have checklists, and some just ask all the questions in essay-question format.
