I played for Swords of Gridlock at the Pleasanton Scottish Games on Saturday, Sept 2, and loved every minute of it. There’s something just twenty times more delightful about playing for dance.

Somehow I was too busy in 2005 to make any of the Swords of Gridlock performances; this year, I’ve made a rehearsal and a performance (Ardenwood Historical Farm’s little Celtic Fair, an annual delight in mid-June), and have a few more gigs lined up with them.

Peter Barnes has published a new collection of tunes used in English Country Dancing, and some of them are gorgeous.
Wonder how they’d sound in parts?
