Learn to play the guitar

today i didn’t really practice perse, but i bought picks (ive only been strumming up to this point) and learned on youtube how to restring. (it took me far more time than the dude on youtube.) I also got a book that will teach me how to play. so my first resolution for the new year: “Learn to play guitar and be good at it”. Next year my resolution will be “Learn to play like Angus Young or Slash.” Which might be just a tad too ambitious. But a girl can try.

it’s so incredible, i’ve only been playing four days and my fingers don’t even hurt anymore! i thought it would take longer than that. i wish my musical skill would progress so fast. my e string broke but i’m too scared to replace it yet, i’m afraid i’ll break its replacement that came with it and have to get a new one. aren’t I a silly bastard?

step 1 is completed… i finally got an electric guitar for christmas! I think it’s meant for kids to learn but it works and is really cute, kinda small but i have really small hands. step 2 was filing off all my nails because i learned quickly that i couldn’t play with long pretty nails. Which sucks too, becuase i recently invested a lot of effort into stopping biting my fingers, it was hard work. oh well. next i have to re-develop calluses. and keep learning. i’ll practice until i bleed.

I hope to get an electric guitar for Christmas. That would be cool.
