I lost 75 pounds over the course of my freshmen-junior year of college and it was difficult but rewarding. I had been big all of my life and had previously thought “some people are born skinny and some people are born fat…I’m one of the latter.” I had NO idea that I could change me.
For me personally, I had to count calories. Calorie counters are available online and can help you determine how many daily calories you need to consume on an individual basis. (Of course, I opted for healthier foods as well, but it just helped me to have a set number in mind for each day in terms of calories.) I paired my dieting with weekly exercise…even things as simple as power walking 20 min. 3 days a week on a treadmill. I also cut out sodas.
