It has occurred to me — 9 months ago
that the places that have gotten the most work this year are the “storage” spaces here: the pantry, laundry room, and now, I hope, the attic. Part of this is that there is so much stuff here that organizing those areas first takes a huge chunk from the accumulated “stuff” elsewhere.
The attic the way I want it? Well for one thing it would be twice as big as it is, but… Dealing with reality here. A space to hang the J hooks and store out of season clothes (and maybe trunks and/or a dresser to store things that are better folded?). Shelving to take out of season supplies: air conditioners, walkway salt, etc. Pantry overflow storage. Trunks, we already have these, on benches and under them in a row or two. Since it seems to be what happens: computer equipment and boxes for appliances. Shipping supplies.
Even this seems overly ambitious, and realistically, it probably is. Sigh. The first step seems to really be getting rid of 1/2 of everything we own after we get rid of most of the books.
Pfui!
