I start on January 22, 2007. I’m only taking two classes (6 credits) this semester so I can get back into it.
So I went and had my advisement.
I am currently in another curriculum to get my grades up and study my Math.
I registered for two classes for next semester to get me back into the swing of things. Technical Communications (English) and The West And The World (History).
In between I need to be studying my Math so I can place in Pre-Calculus…because without it I cannot get into the Engineering courses I want to take.
I was accepted to the school I applied to. However, I was not accepted into the program I wanted to get into.
I have two choices:
I’m not sure exactly what I’m going to do, but I’ll figure it out.
I got my laptop and it’s pretty great. This thing is going to be perfect for the classroom. It’s small and quiet. I got Microsoft OneNote to take care of all my note taking and organization.
I’m still waiting on my acceptance letter. I just hope that my school sent out my transcript like they said they would 2 weeks ago.
I have some downtime at work and I would love to be able to take care of my school work in that free time, maybe even take an online course. Of course to do this I would need a laptop since I work in the field (that’s outside for you office workers).
I was up for hours researching laptops online. I had also read a few reviews in magazines at Barnes & Noble the same day.
I decided on a Dell XPS, which has gotten good reviews. I’m not normally a Dell guy. In fact, I really don’t like the fact that they outsource their tech support overseas. However, since I consider myself a computer guru, I hopefully won’t need to talk to them.
It’s being built right now and will be shipped to me on 10/13.
Sweet!
I received a letter in the mail from the college today.
I am proud to report that they are “processing” my application.
The first step has been taken!
After many months of thinking about it, I finally decided to go back to school.
I re-applied to the college I went to previously just the other day for Spring 2007. Construction Management Engineering Technology is going to be my major – providing them accept me into the curriculum. If not, I may need to play some catch up on my Math or Science first.
Wish me luck.
When I look at my old college transcript one question comes to mind: “How?” My GPA was a 2.8!
How did I let that happen?
How did I lose interest in my major?
Why did I waste my own money?
I worked my way through college and paid my own way. Most kids who go to college and flunk waste their parents money. It’s been about 4 years since I left college now and I have a lot more experience work-wise.
I want to go back and take up civil engineering as my major.
