nice outcome, rude salon  — 1 year ago

Today was my first pedicure and second manicure (but first french!). It was nice to be pampered and my hands and feet look and feel great. Definitely recommended if you have some spare cash.

I would love to do it again sometime, but I would try a different salon. The people at this one were a bit rude. The two girls working just sat and talked to eachother in Chinese most of the time. When the girl who was doing my nails wanted me to do something or move somewhere else, she would point and grunt, which was confusing since I’ve never had this done before.

She was much more experienced than the girl who did my last manicure. That girl hurt me when cutting and pushing back my cuticles and I probably could of done a better job overall myself! The parafin hand dip and massage made it worth it that time. & she talked to me and was pleasant.

appointment made.  — 1 year ago

I made an appointment for a manicure and pedicure next Friday, which is two days before my baby shower. I’m going to go for the french manicure, but I’m not sure about my toes. I don’t really care; honestly, I’m just looking forward to a foot bath and massage. My hands and feet look chubby and tired.

gift--a couple questions  — 1 year ago

My boyfriend gave me a gift card for a manicure and pedicure as a Christmas gift! My hands and feet are starting to swell since I’m in my last six weeks of pregnancy, so I really appreciate it.

But I have a couple questions:

Are tips to the person doing it expected/accepted/appreciated?

& what kind of manicure can I get with my real nails? Will they just shape and paint them a solid color?

I have nice strong, long nails that are my own, so there’s no need for fake ones. I had a few fake nails once where my real ones had broken for a high school homecoming or prom and hated them because they were a pain to remove.

I had a manicure once for senior prom or something, and it was wonderfully nice and relaxing.

I think a pedicure would be even better since I love foot massages. I am saving this treat for a couple months down the road when I’m sure my feet will be tired and swollen.
