I stopped by a Mormon church in Maine with my father to check out their genealogy databases around 1990. It was weird to see the basement of this small town church set up, for then, like a high tech war room: microfilm and microfiche readers, and a bank of computers. I saw my own name and my sibling’s on microfiche!
I have no affiliation with the Mormon church, and just today, had four cups of coffee and as many beers.

(I suspect my father has) but oddly enough, I had a great-grandmother who was Mormon, and my grandfather grew up in Utah.
I’ve never met anyone from that part of the family. The only thing that will ever stop me from drinking beer and coffee is reflux.

I read on Wikipedia that they are digitizing all their data from microfishe and it is all going to be online around 2012.
